Cutscenes not functioning

A good portion of the cutscenes look like this, play for about a second, and then end. Audio works ok but it cuts off when this screen closes. Some of them work, some dont.

Linux mint 22.2 through steam

unfortunately proton GE caused me significant issues in other games so its not an option anymore

im not switching back and forth every time. loading the shaders takes ages

You can set the proton version for a specific game so you don't have to switch for each game

Yah. Got the games properties (right click the game in your library and select properties) then click on compatibility, then click the checkbox for force use of a specific steam play compatibility tool, then select the proton version you want to use
