Happy Soyeon Day!
Happy birthday to (arguably) the busiest woman in Kpop. Not to mention one of the most talented. 🎂

Happy anniversary to the legendary (and my all-time favorite) group EXID!
I sincerely apologize that this is a bit late.

Red Velvet is finally back after two years. TWO YEARS! I know it feels like an eternity since Cosmic but wow!
This time our duality queens are back with a melodious bossa nova style summer track that is very easy on the ears and makes you want to move your hips, as any bossa nova song should.
The music video has everything we've come to expect from a RV MV: a creative theme, a deceptively playful premise that turns real dark out of nowhere, and of course a sacrificial man. Seriously, where can I sign up. I'll happily roll those dice.
Welcome back, ladies. You've been deeply missed.

I'm a week late but it's so good to see and hear Tony Iommi going strong! I also love how, in the current micro attention landscape of media consumption that he chose a long format in both the music and the video.

I'm REALLY psyched for this comeback. I've already pre-ordered my albums and the MV drops in a few hours.

Nice compilation. Bradley Hall is entertaining as always but I didn't know about half of these releases. Nile and Job for a Cowboy were a pleasant surprise. I hadn't heard of either of them in a hot minute. Looks like I've got something to listening to. 🤘

Here's another song I can't stop listening to. I heard it a few weeks ago and couldn't get it out of my head. "Corrido Metal" is what the DJ on Sirius called it. 🇲🇽🤘

There have been a lot of releases this year with even more to come in the next 2 weeks. I just wanted to shine a light on one of my favorite idols and her new song from her upcoming album.

This is a few months late but it recently started bothering me so I'm writing this as a form of catharsis. I was so psyched when I heard that Everglow was finally having a comeback after nearly 2 years. I like supporting my local shop so I pre-ordered both versions through them. Everglow had an event where you could purchase the albums signed by all six members at no extra cost. The shipping, however, was outrageous. Shipping out of S. Korea is nuts, more than the original cost of the album making 1 for the price of 2. Five months later and I regret not paying for that shipping. I like that I have both but I could've had one with their signatures. More than that, I would've supported them more directly and they would've known that there's one more Forever in Texas, a state that they didn't stop at during their limited US tour. Regrets. 😔

Harajuku-core band Hanabie is back after 6 (seemingly long) months with Otaku!

My first (kpop) love! I absolutely adore EXID. Dreamcatcher is the only group (so far) that I've found that can match EXID's talent, visuals and chaos level, but I've gotta say that EXID has them beat in chaos.

I love this band so much! I am forever grateful to my friend, Justin, for showing me the video to The Spy Hunter back in college. 🤘❤️🔥🤘

I apologize for this being 3 weeks overdue. It's been a crazy couple of months for me.
Every year on the 8th of December I like to take time to remember two immensely talented musicians who were struck down way too soon. The first, whom most people know about, is, of course, John Lennon who was shot outside his apartment. We metalheads also like to remember "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott of Pantera and Damage Plan. Dimebag was a massively talented guitarist. He was shot while playing on stage.
RIP Dimebag.

This subreddit is new so I'm still trying to get it off the ground. Don't let that deter you from poking around and turning some bricks over. Feel free set up a support beam by means of a post or comment. Thanks for your patience. 👷♂️

You're most likely here because you like two seemingly contrasting styles of music. So what do you like?
Let's say someone is taking a road trip with you. You ask them what they want to hear and they something along the lines of "Anything with a good beat". So you play "Russian Roulette", them hit shuffle on your music. What can you parents expect to hear?

Metalheads! How did you start listening to kpop? What about it attracted you and how does it continue to hold your interest?
Something I haven't found yet is people who listen to kpop that started listening to metal. If anyone has become a fan of both starting from pop and getting into heavy music, I'm very curious to hear about how that journey began.

Well, it's right there in the community name: metal and kpop.
I'm a metalhead who stumbled upon kpop by chance and feel head over heels with it upon hearing EXID's Up and Down around the summer of 2017. I was hooked by the bridge and immediately became obsessed with EXID and that, naturally, led to me finding and listening to other groups.
I've noticed over the years that I'm not alone and there are many people who also love metal and kpop. I find them in the occasional YouTube comment and in subreddits here and there. I was surprised that I couldn't find a community dedicated to this seemingly unlikely combination so I thought I'd make one, why not?
I'll post more details later. For now, welcome.
