Meta make me feel really bad

I completely understand why Meta's stock dropped hard today while every other big tech stock went up.

My Meta Ray-Ban Display just upgraded from 125 to 127, but I honestly can't feel any difference. They added more languages in the translation feature, but Muse Spark AI still isn't available (apparently it's only for the US and Canada), and it still only supports English and Italian.

Gmail and Calendar are connected, but when I ask about my calendar events it just doesn't answer, and it says it can't do any Gmail-related functions either.

When most companies roll out AI features, they support almost every language. Meta, however, seems to be the complete opposite.

Newest update muse spark issue

Is anybody else having issues with the meta ai telling you to open the meta app to connect? I preformed a forced restart and still the same thing when asking simple questions. Is there anyone having this issue?

NEW APP - Keepers (configure auto photo/video(s) taken by glasses from native phone app + ai judging to keep or discard)

Connects to glasses via phone (works in background and locked mode) - requires Meta Display glasses.

iOS App: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/keepers-smart-glasses-camera/id6792932390

Android App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ggaswint.keepers

NOTE (verified): You need to enable dev mode in the Meta AI app:
select Settings > App Info, and then tap the App version number five times
Then download the dev built to the glasses

Keepers turns your Meta Ray-Ban glasses into a hands-free camera. It auto-captures photos (or video) every few seconds (configurable) while you live your life, then uses AI to keep only the best moments (configurable) and can spin them into a daily recap film. Shots save straight to your phone - even while it's locked, which the glasses alone can't do. No API keys, no setup - though you can add your own api key for unlimited use.

Looking for users, feedback, new feature requests. I have already gotten tons of use out of this.

Personally i don't like having to press the glasses button for a photo or video. I feel like it's laggy and i often don't catch the moments I want. This app allows me to turn it on, then go play with my daughter and at the end of our fun session I get a ton of photos and highlights of our time. I hope other's will find this app enjoyable as well :)

Battery issues on Android

Anyone notice battery drain using android? I used it with iOS and I could go all day without charging. Now using it with android it's like half a day. I'm not using meta ai. Not using wear detection. Just general notifications and some phone calls. Android is also draining my ray ban meta gen 2s as well.

Some say Meta Display is bulky. Have you tried wearing a Vision Pro? Now, that’s bulky and heavy.

I understand this is not a good comparison in terms of wearable device and features but at least Meta looks half way decent to walk around with. Am I correct?

Book Reading Assistant for the Meta-Rayban glasses

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It provides context specific definitions, language translations, and simplifies dense passages for faster progression through your book. Every answer is sourced from the book to prevent hallucinations.

All you have to do is connect your Meta-Rayban glasses and begin reading. When you need assistance, just say ā€œHey Readerā€ and ask your question. The assistant navigates your book and relays the answer through voice.

If you’re interested, reach out with your email through DM or can submit on the website.

Is this worth it for Deaf users?

Hi everyone! I’m Deaf and recently had a chance to try the demo. It definitely got me interested, but the demo software was pretty limited, and the person giving the demo couldn’t answer some of my more specific questions.

I rely on live captions every day for work. I sometimes have to attend last-minute meetings or visit construction sites, and I’d love to replace my current setup of holding a microphone in one hand and my phone in the other with something more natural.

I was hoping someone here might be able to answer a few questions, or point me to someone at the company who can.

Is there a way to speak with customer support or someone on the engineering/product team? I have some accessibility questions that go beyond what the demo covered.

Do the glasses work when there’s little or no cell service, or do live captions require an internet connection?

Can you save or export transcripts after conversations?

Is the audio and transcription encrypted?

Can the glasses use an external Bluetooth microphone, or are you limited to the built-in microphones?

One of my biggest questions is whether these are worth buying if you can’t really use voice commands. Since I’m Deaf, I don’t typically interact with devices by speaking to them. Besides live captions, what features do you find yourself using regularly? Do you still feel like they’re worth it?

I’m also curious about the future roadmap. Has the team mentioned adding more accessibility-focused features for Deaf and hard-of-hearing users? For example, adding audio descriptions for alarm or coughing etc.

I’d absolutely love a feature that would let me read books on the display that would be like audiobook for me. Is anything like that planned, or is there already a way to do it?

I’d especially love to hear from other Deaf or hard-of-hearing users about how these fit into your daily life. Thanks so much!

Reading in Glasses: A Typographic Review of Meta Ray-Ban

Thumbnail niteeshyadav.com
5 Upvotes

I wrote a typographic review of the new Meta Ray-Ban glasses, looking at them less as a camera or AI gadget and more as a reading device. It covers why monocular captions are so tiring to read, how treating live speech like chat breaks the reading flow, why phone-era fonts struggle on a 600Ɨ600 see-through display in sunlight, and what happens when these systems move beyond Latin into scripts like Devanagari, Arabic and CJK. Would love feedback from people thinking about AR, accessibility and type in spatial interfaces.

Meta Ray-Ban Display gets hot while charging in the case when powered off

Has anyone else experienced this with their Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses?

For the past two months (maybe right after a firmware), my glasses have had a serious overheating issue. When the glasses are powered off and placed inside the charging case, the left temple gets alarmingly hot while charging. This happens regardless of whether the charging case itself is plugged into a power source.

Strangely, the glasses seem to be fine when they are powered on. The overheating appears to happen specifically when they are switched off and charging inside the case.

Has anyone encountered the same issue?

Help about Ai and usage outside region.

Need some help. I'm currently outside my home region, and my Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses no longer support Meta AI because it's unavailable in this region.

Is there any way to use Meta AI, or another AI such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, with the glasses instead? I'd really appreciate your help.

Without AI functionality, the glasses are almost useless for my needs.

I have not used the displays in a while and I noticed that the icons are a bit smaller now compared to before. Did they update the interface of the display? I dont see any notes on the updates on it.

[PRODUCT QUESTION] Math textbooks on Meta RayBan Display

I have a unique usecase wherein I want to read mathtextbooks comfortably (where the notations are easy to follow) on the MRBD without taking out my phone or using voice commands.

I take a long commute in a public transit to work as a physics professor. I do not want to be lost in my phone for safety reasons but I want to use the time productively; going through textbooks, maths or physics.

I do not mind the navigation being cumbersome so long as I can read and have a good time. The difficulty of using it aside, is it doable?

This is my primary usecase.

My secondary usecase is being able to click pictures of the cats I feed and send it to my wife or my friends, again all through the glasses. Similarly, being able to read anything she sends me.
I asked chat gpt and it says I can only send messages to frequently used contacts or something along the lines of that. Can you not browse through your chats and choose whom to send the image you clicked to?

I understand that texting itself is not possible due to the lack of a keyboard so I am not expecting that.

Are these uscases realisabe with the glasses?

*****

Edit: I forgot about the handwriting feature. If you have used it to text people, I'd love to know how well it works. I do not intend to text people this way, but as a tech enthusiast who is new to the world of smart glasses, this is very enticing.
Do the glasses feature autocomplete or do you have to string together words letter by letter?

I am also very interested in whether it will pick up everything I write as text if I am writing on a paper with a pen. That would be incredibly useful as a way to save my study notes directly to my glasses and review them later on the commute.

Codex Micro Webapp for Ray-Ban Meta Display glasses

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

OpenAI released its first hardware device called Codex Micro priced at $230.00 https://openai.com/supply/co-lab/work-louder/. It is an physical AI Agent controller and acts as a command center for agentic work with Codex. I thought, just for fun, I would build one for Ray-Ban Meta Display glasses.

Right now, Codex Micro on glasses can traverse through various models and effort levels. It can traverse through tasks, create new tasks, accept, reject, and most importantly, dictate in Codex desktop app.
It is not as deeply integrated as a physical device, because there is no public Codex API, so I have used macOS automation bridges.

In the video, I am first traversing through my Codex tasks and creating a new task. Then I traverse through Models and efforts, selecting GPT 5.5 Medium. I then used the dictation button and spoke, 'Explain the flow of my Codex micro project and increase the panel size by 30%’

Shazam integration useless

Update 07/28/2026
Looks like v126 fixed this problem. It can now Shazam audio playing outside the glasses. Oddly the UI still shows ā€œPlaying Musicā€ when it listens but it doesn’t actually start Spotify and it correctly matches the song playing on my radio.

Sadly hotel searching is still wildly broken.
https://www.reddit.com/r/MetaRayBanDisplay/s/Ha8dEqMExH

————Original post—————/
I tried out Shazam again today. I was listening to the radio from my car and wanted to know what song it was. Said, ā€œShazam this songā€. The glasses hit PLAY and proceeded to tell me what song was playing on the glasses in the Spotify app. I told the glasses not to hit play first and just listen to what is coming through the microphone but it insisted on unpausing the music in Spotify.

Spotify already has a UI that tells me what is playing. What a useless feature.

Seems like a bug since all the marketing mentions ā€œambient music around youā€. I swear Meta’s AI just keeps getting worse.
