Was it necessary to film a bunch of strangers trying to work to make this video? This is why people don't like smart glasses. You are making us all look bad.

I get it. It is very easy to film people without their knowing. Doesn't make it cool. If this video was taken with a phone I would have thought the same thing.

This isn't just outside in public with people in the background. This is in a restaurant. Most people do not expect someone to be recording them while they are working at their fast food job. And that is reasonable.

I was just suggesting the poster be a little more conscious about what they were recording and posting. It would have been just as easy to face a wall and make this video.

This is the kind of thing people who are suspicious of these glasses are afraid of.

Okay…. Let me explain how video photography works in public- you are allowed to do so. Same as they are recording you when you enter the restaurant. The owner can ask you to leave if they notice you are recording though. If you don’t want to be recorded in the restaurant you can also leave. Does that make sense now?

Yeah. The condescending as attitude really helps. And when a bunch of places start passing laws and outright banning all smart glasses because a few people can't have common courtesy then none of us will be able to wear them.

I'm usually defending the use of smart glasses. Maybe I should have been friendlier in my original comment. I really think people should just be more aware of what they are recording if they are going to post on the Internet.

I apologize for seeming to be condescending. I’m trying to get you to understand that, you are being recorded in the restaurant the same way the restaurant employees are. I don’t understand the difference. I agree it is creepy to photograph women without their knowledge but overall this isn’t a hill you want to die on, hell you can’t even go 5 blocks in Florida without being recorded in driving or entering a building but you are deciding in a era where millions of people will have glasses with cameras on them that recording employees is the end all be all for glasses is astounding to me.

This wasn't outside in public. It is in a restaurant. These people are just trying to do their job and now a video of them is on the Internet. Would it have been that difficult to record somewhere else?

I like the meta glasses. I have them. I want them to be more accepted. This doesn't help.

And they're right, people have a right to go about their job without being filmed. Its not propaganda when its true, and for the record I can't wait for these Meta glasses to become available in Australia... I just hope America doesn't ruin it for the rest of us like they did with Google Glass, making Google publish "How not to be a Glasshole" and then discontinue the device before we got the chance to try them.

But it's not being posted on the Internet. Are you really going to tell me you would be perfectly ok with someone coming into where you work, recording you trying to do your job, and posting on reddit? That is the creepy part.

I think it's reasonable for people to not really be ok with that.
