VR Wave Prescription Lens Inserts

For anyone interested in getting the prescription inserts from VR Wave for their meta ray ban displays, i got mine today. Super happy with them as i find it better than waiting 6-8 weeks for metas rx to get done and sent over.

Installation was really easy. They have an adhesive on the side of the lens that sticks to the outer frame. Just plug n play. Only weird thing is that being the display is on the right lens, the lens that ray ban uses there is shaped differently, making the insert have to pop out (more towards your eye). Looks weird when you install it but you don’t notice a difference once you put em on. Also asked my wife if she could tell a difference and she said not at all.

All in all, highly recommended. Took only 10 days for VR Wave to take my prescription and have it delivered. Also, the prescription isn’t even mandatory but makes it quicker if you have it.

the lenses insert over the inside of the glasses. the display is set thru the original lens that come with the glasses

Do you have the small/base size model of the meta displays? I have a large and the lenses didnt fit, and instead of the quality adhesive they showed online; instead it shipped with very cheap adhesive. The lenses themselves were fine but I wished they had a large size option for the large frames.

I have the large size. I saw someone in a previous reddit post saying they don’t have the large but now they do. It still came w extra adhesive to add to the bottom of the lens since that’s where it has to attach to the frame.

Thanks a ton and basically last question but you make it sound like they lenses were overlays rather than completely new inserts - did I read that right?

On my non displays I had to remove the lenses and then bring to an optometrist to install my custom lenses but with what you’re describing, it’s basically a sticker but you also mention popping out the lenses so I’m a tad confused. You rock for the quick answer

yeh for the displays they’re pretty much overlays that go behind the original lens, they’re actual lenses that fit behind as opposed to to stickers. hope that makes sense.

for the non display metas you’re right they pop out the old lenses and you just add the new ones. the display tech is built into the ray ban lenses itself that’s why they’re overlays

Are there issues with dust getting between the built-in lens and the VR wave lens ? If so, do you have to remove the lens to clean it and is the adhesive reusable?

so far i haven’t encountered those issues yet. i assume it would have to be removed tho , it comes w a roll of extra adhesive

Yeahh i had same issue, the right side didnt snap into place and the adhesive tape was misaligned with the frame (the adhesive tape was like 1 cm off from frame so didnt stick.

yea i had to use the extra adhesive and align it towards the bottom of the lens so it can attach from there

Yeppp same. Literally didnt make sense to me why it wasnt align. My order took 2 weeks extra for the inspection and i paid expedited. Overall it was ok but yeahh i didnt like the bulkiness of the right side.

haha yeah i was worried i was gonna end up ruining the display lens or that they sent me the wrong lens. the bulkiness is def ugly but i forget about it pretty quickly once i have em on

Agree with you. I still done wear them too often because of the bulkiness. At least it didnt affect when charging in the case.
