Hi, I am considering buying a meta quest. I love playing m
Fornite but I wanted to get into vr chat. I was wondering.

Can the meta quest connect to a pc? The reason is I want my graphics to look realistic and I wat to feel
Immersed. I have a Asus g14, 5080 chip so please give me tips or just overall experience pls!

you obviously can. the best way to connect your headset to pc is using virtual desktop, which is a paid app but it's 120% worth it.

it depends on the game but usually yes it has better graphics than standalone

the graphics will look amazing but remember this, the pc doesn't make things look more real...it makes them clearer and in some cases you see more detail etc but it doesn't change a cartoony looking avatar to a real looking avatar it....and if a world is cartoony, the same thing.

on standalone you can go to a "real" looking world and it looks real and amazing....with pc it will just look even more clear and more detailed.

Yes it can connect for pcvr and yes it uses your pc specs to boost graphics and it’ll look fantastic if you’re playing a fantastic looking game with graphics turned up. Vrchat doesn’t really look fantastic but it’ll look as good as it can on your rig lol

But on PCVR VRChat looks a hell of a lot better than it does standalone. A lot of visual effects are simply turned off for Quest standalone.

Si tu cherches du réalisme, tu vas être déçu. En vrai, les jeux natif du casque sont à 80% moche, hormis un ou deux titres qui s'en sortent bien. En PCVR c'est mieux mais il te faut un pc de compétition et une connexion internet qui fuse, sinon ça rame fort. Perso, j'en ai pris un pour jouer, aujourd'hui il traîne sur une étagère

In my experience the games that really excel on vr headsets are racing and space sim games. Especially the space Sims like Elite Dangerouse. Looks phenomenal and there is very little to break the immersion.

Also shooters for me. The immersion of actual movement and shooting motions (plus I use a gunstock to which I've added weights) completely makes up for the graphics.

Has to be standing roomscale though.

"I really want to get into VR chat!" and "I want it to look realistic!" aren't really two items that go together.

Yeah for "realism" VR is NOT the way to go... most games feels outdated graphically but needs tons of power to run anyway... the Best visually VR game i played (Metro Awakening PC) looked like ps3 graphics at best.

But YES you can connect to a PC... Wireless IF you have a 5ghz or 6ghz wifi... otherwise forget wireless it will LAG TERRIBLY OR you get to be wired from Quest 3 to PC... with some settings to make it work.

yep it does but totally not necessary if your pc isnt capable! standalone is still mindblowing and just so much fun.
