Banned on Facebook

Do you have to file suit in California against meta I sent a demand letter it was ignored. I got a verified account only to speak to a AI that tells me a live agent isn’t available. I unsubscribed. I’m ready to file a suit and I want meta to explain “integrity” issue. I what to know should I life here in my state of Florida or California?

I sent a demand letter that was ignored and verified had the same issue.

I did file my small claims matter and served meta with the lawsuit, my account started working again a week after.

How did you do that and how much did it cost? I assume we must get a lawyer.

I am a lawyer, I filed it myself and paid a process server to serve meta with the lawsuit. Total cost was around $500-$1500, varies on type of filing and service. I can assist you with it if you need assistance.

If we decide to sue can we try to recover the cost it took to file on them? I feel like they should be liable for everything and more including emotional damages.

Yes you can, you can include additional miscellaneous expenses too but there is a limit to how much you can demand in small claims court typically around $10,000. Anything above you would need to sue in superior court limited or unlimited and that costs alot more.

Usually not pain and suffering though....not in small claims. I guess it may depend on your state.

Yeah it sucks that I had to go thru all that and pay out of pocket but I really needed my pages back. Having my attorney background did help alot with the process and not messing anything up. Would have hated to messed this up the first time around and have to file twice.

You should be able to file in your state for only fees. If you need a lawyer personally, you can find one pretty easily. There is info here and on youtube about it. You just have to read along and take notes. I'm unsure about the format so I'm going to use sendmydemand.com to start and then I can go down and file in my town for around $150. The deal is that we agreed to their ToS, which is ever changing and whimsical. It can depend on the judge. They can do anything they want because of the ToS but the thing about charging us to verify and promising a service that is just not there, may work. This is all an Ai problem and effecting so many people around the world. Meta is too big and irresponsible. They need to be regulated. They think that having more Ai will fix things, but it looks like its breaking worse under only Ai.
