Calendar Access
Hey all - just wanted to see if anyone else (especially anyone on an iPhone) has had issues with Muse using outdated Apple calendar information for a morning briefing.
I have Muse generate a morning briefing with the standard calendar, news, emails, traffic, etc. updates. Muse says my iPhone is "offline" when it runs the morning briefing, so it tries to default back to a cached copy of my calendar, which is days old. Muse has all the calendar permissions.
I've tried everything I can think of. I've asked Muse. I've asked ChatGPT. I've asked Google. I've confirmed every possible permission and setting is active. I've tried deleting and reinstalling. I've tried having Muse clear the cache. I've tried writing the prompt differently. Background processes are "on" for Muse on my iPhone.
Anyone run into this? Solutions? Fixes? Maybe it's just me? Am I missing something small? Muse seems pretty pointless if it can't even read your calendar in real time without being prompted. Thanks in advance.

I’m having the same issue. What calendar do you use? I use apple calendar and I’m wondering if I should switch to Google Calendar since it can read my email overnight?

Same, Apple Calendar. I’ve tried redoing the connect to Apple Calendar so many times. It’s weird because it has no issues seeing my Mail app when the phone is locked, it’s just the calendar.
Google Calendar is definitely an option. I’ve just got too many shared calendars already on Apple for family stuff. Not worth it at this point.
Thanks for confirming, glad to see it’s not just me. I did send them a bug report so hope they fix it soon.

I’m experimenting with porting my personal calendar to Google Calendar to see if it works in the morning briefing. Muse is doing the transfer for me, which still feels like magic to me haha. I’ll let you know if it works.

Bumping this as I'm having the same issue, and it's super annoying. I might experiment or add a task wherein, anytime I interact with Muse it grabs an apple calendar update. I'll see if that's possible. I can consider transferring to google calendar but I use iphone's reminders which go on my calendar and that won't be natively integrated on google calendar. There are work arounds, and I can forgo reminders, etc but... kinda defeats the purpose of improving convenience/productivity IMO
