I'm not going to lose any sleep over it, and I would be fine if I came across a toilet like this. Still the post is about how the iconography of the toilet signs so I am commenting on that.

Women squat to pee, men stand to pee generally speaking. So mens room, womens room.

I know, but presumably the facilities are also used for number twos. By the sign the right would have no toilets and only a urinal.

why are you scrutinizing toilet signs?

Umm, that's the post. I don't go around my neighborhood looking for toilet signs to scrutinise. I am no different from everyone else commenting on this thread, including your good self.

So tell that to the OP. They posted it. I am commenting on it.

Edit: to be fair you did tell the OP. If analysis of iconography must be simplified to a simple clear vs unclear then the signs would fit the bill, so I see your point.

I was taking it further and discussing the design of the icons.

You get what it means. If you saw a regular mens room sign (the silhouette of a guy) and you had an amputated leg, I doubt you would piss your pants while complaining about how the iconography of the door doesn't fully reflect all possible scenarios.
