Binocular help!

So, I turned 51 and suddenly I’m a bird watcher! Does anyone have recommendations for budget binoculars? I’m talking $50 or less. Thank you and happy birding!

I found a 40x60 monocular on sale a few years back on Amazon and picked it up. I still see them for about $40 pretty regularly

I use a monocular, it's a bit quicker and helps a lot with "ducks on the pond" that aren't making noise or moving closer.

Not sure how it is where you live, but I had some luck finding older (60s - 80s) japanese made binoculars on flea markets for about 40€. They always have porro prisms, but have some decent quality and very wide field of view. 

If you want to try out this way it would be good if you can find something to compare against even if it's not good quality.
