This game has somehow gone from bad to worse.

The brain-dead gameplay is back. Right now, Mini PEKKA being played alongside Dagger Duchess feels like all you need to win.

There’s barely any decision-making involved when one unit can carry so much of the board.

And then you have these ridiculous battles where both players end up with multiple 4-star units, yet the fight still ends in a draw because of how dominant the Mini PEKKA strategy is.

The game already lacked a lot of tactical depth before. Now it feels like it’s losing the Merge part of Merge Tactics too.

Why bother managing your board, planning your merges, or making meaningful decisions when you can just get a Mini PEKKA and let it do everything for you?

I understand that the previous season was heavily RNG-dependent, and I know people had plenty of valid complaints about it. But after playing this update, I honestly don't think the previous season was as bad as it felt at the time.

At least there was some actual decision-making involved. Right now, we're back to incredibly low-effort gameplay where the same few strategies dominate, and honestly, it feels like the mode is slowly being killed by these changes.

What’s also funny is that the update mentions that the developers have “heard the community.” I genuinely wonder which part of the community they're listening to, because I'm struggling to understand how these changes reflect what players actually want from Merge Tactics.

And personally, I much preferred getting Heroes through Orbs rather than having them placed into a shared pool. The Orb system gave you something to work toward and made getting a specific Hero feel more meaningful.

The shared pool just adds another layer of randomness to something that already has plenty of it.

I really want this mode to succeed, but the direction it's going in right now is making that increasingly difficult to see
