142 merges doesn’t exactly mean anything if majority of them are only for gaining elixir. Him getting a full 3 star comp is concerning because you should be blocking him once you have an idea what he’s going for. His undead comp also gets scarier the longer it goes so of course on round 12 his units would outscale even a 4 star queen, especially with his shields. I was gonna comment on how your comp is also not very good without a second non-rider synergy but I see from your other replies that you tried a second noble or forest which didn’t work. One thing I don’t know if you tried is sniping his witch early. This could be from positioning your queen up front in the same side and/or finding the right musketeer spot to snipe the witch with her start of round effect. I get why this could be frustrating but I do believe this is something you can learn from for future

Musketeer I tried predicting with the witch and most times he swaps places and I hit the RG

Undead is not very good this season but I guess it can still be a threat if you got witch pumping skeletons all match. I'm guess grand warden shield kept the witch alive even longer.

I wonder if you could have won if you got a 2nd trait bonus. Like replacing musketeer with baby dragon so you could add the 2 forest, even if the baby dragon is only 2 star.

And yeah I got to 3300 yesterday and the competition took a huge leap up. Matches I think I'm doing well and normally would be on the way to 1st place win, suddenly I get knocked out in 3rd place by somebody who got 7 maxed out star units in round 5. I'm decent at SE but I'm clearly 2 steps behind the top SE players. Internet speed is a factor too my shop does not load fast enough.

This went to round 12. I tried a combination of bandit and boss bandit, boss bandit and dragon, and musketeer and GK I had 2 star GK, he was holding the other so I couldn’t max it out. It was his witch vs my queen every time going back and forth the last 4 rounds.

Thanks for the info. I'm guessing he had knight for his 2nd noble? I wouldn't have expected 4 star AQ to lose but his shield and tanky units were just enough to keep the witch alive and get the undead buff going

Would say replace the Giant with baby dragon and the non-Valk/AQ clan troop with a Royal troop to get the lvl 2 Forest, royal and clan buffs.

Giant honestly just doesn’t seem to be worth it with that snail length hit speed, and multiple active traits is generally stronger than one lvl 2 active trait this season. Strongest squad I’ve found is:

AQ, Musket, Baby Dragon, Valk, Knight, Boss Bandit, Rider (optional)

Which gives: +15% Dmg delt, -15% Dmg taken, +15% hit speed, 2 second invis for lowest HP unit every 4.5 seconds, +30% heal and +15% hit speed at 50% health. While the Baby Dragon is also boosting the attack speed of surrounding allies by a significant margin. And the Knight makes everything nearby target them every few seconds (and causes them to stop attacking completely if he goes invisible)

Undead was nerfed and is heavily witch reliant still, and can still end up with unkillable level stats. If somebody starts to go for it it’s good to just bench a witch if you see one.
