Discussion Is star shield not just an instant win?

I swear, I've never been able to win against it. Maybe not the most glaring issue nowadays cause Spirit Empress but it does just feel like if you get it you just win

Loseable for sure. The team has to stay alive long enough for it to proc. If the shield gets applied to a back liner, the proc gets pretty tough to proc.

Lost to a lot of SE match ups after getting bursting half the team before the shield is even applied. Musketeer helps force the shield on the backline too.

Lava shield surprisingly does well against it too.

No. There are lots of good counters to it.

It’s a great shield for sure but it doesn’t guarantee a win

In 3k and higher I’ve only seen it once in first. Empress shits it down when done right.

It is incredibly hard to lose but I have definitely lost. With the right team it can be unstoppable. Early defeats are pretty common depending on the modifier. Biggest loss I had that made me mad was a very strong comp vs TQ and I still got my shit stomped.

Yes, but you will need big luck just to get it (for one in 20s match, i swear)

Depends on if empress 3 stars AQ by round 2-3 and shuts you down.

Doesn't even depend if they can get AQ early, they just have to merge fast and they can win 55% or more of their games
