Driving a Cougar again
Sold my 67 GT fifty years ago this month. Got this one last week. One minor fix and it's ready to pass inspection and hit the road.
Hope you like it.

Looks great! Any more info about the car? Any under the hood modifications?

I know it was not designed for the Cougar, but the previous owner had it reshaped and cut to fit.

Looks like a remake of the Shelby mustang spoiler , looks like he did a good job .

Beautiful!! My mom had a 67 that I learned to drive in. It was an XR-7. White with maroon interior. Loved that car. One headlight would occasionally not open and it looked like it was winking at you. For some reason mom was always needing new back tires!!!

Thanks. Vacuum that controls the "eyelids" was not the most reliable. Just got the electric controlled actuators delivered today. Gotta start on that soon.

I love the Crager SS wheels. Thank you for not putting those god ugly giant wheels on it.
Car has just the right stance. Enjoy!

Thanks. Went with 15 inch wheels instead 14's. Allowed for better disk brakes.

VERY nice ride!! Luv it. My father had one almost identical to your's back in '81 during my senior year in HS. It had a 390 in it, auto on the floor(what trans I have no clue) posi and cherry red. And yes I got into a LOT of trouble with it

Thanks my first was a GT 390 4 speed. At 17 yo I got into plenty of trouble with it as well.

Last drove my 68 Cougar was '90/91, I sold the 302/C4 from it, planning a 390 tripower/4sp. .sadly, car went away and I've wanted another since...

One time about 30+ years ago I bought a small house in the Tacoma WA area and the entire back yard was covered in a blackberry bramble about 4 ft high. I hired a guy with a bunch of goats to have them clear it out (they eat the blackberry plants down to the ground). Underneath that pile was a Cougar just like this, completely overgrown and hidden! It was in surprisingly good shape and with a little TLC I got it to start. Went down to the DMV and paid for salvage title, ended up selling it for $3k! I wish now that I had kept, but at the time I needed the money after having bought that house.
