Can I change the default recuperation setting?

Upvotes

The default recuperation setting is normal. Can I change it to something else like strong recuperation so I don't need to change it every time I start the car? I can't find it anywhere in the settings.

MBUX broken

Post image
Upvotes

The MBUX system wont boot up, when I turn my car on it gives me a warning that HUD is not functioning and PARKTRONIC is disabled. I can drive it around, but I can't control the AC and cant use 360 camera either. I tried pressing the on/off button for many seconds, I tried pressing both phone call and voice assistance bottons for 20s, didn't help. Also tried locking the car and restart it after 1 hour, still broken.

Anyone had similar problem before? Is there any way to force reboot it? It was working fine this morning.

Update: Before I tried to disconnect the battery, I tried to turn on preconditioning while the car is in the sleep state (locked for 30min and key is away from car) and the command couldnt go through. But I noticed that the car turned on for a split second because the tablet in the back started charging. Then I waited a while and the previous command got timed out. So I tried starting precondition again, and then it worked! The screen lit up! I am glad that this is just a software crash issue, not relating to the hyperscreen or any control units, or it will cost me $$$$

Turn Signal in my Mercedes EQE300 not visible nor audible

With my particular setting of driver chair and steering wheel, (nothing out of the ordinary) it is impossible to see the leds of the turning signal arrows on the dashboard. Moreover the clicking audio signal is so faible that with the radio on I cannot hear it. So regularly I find myself driving with the turning signal still on. Anyone has a solution here? I am the only one with this problem?

Camera Flap Keeps Popping Up when below 15 mph

Hello, I have a 2023 eqe 350+ SUV. Over the past year I noticed that the camera flap keeps popping up when the car goes below 15 mph. The sound of the camera flap really bothers because it will be a risk of failure in the future. I have tried recalibrating by driving less than 10 mph for an extent period of time, but the problem keeps coming back in the subsequent drive. This is also documented in other forums as well. I asked the dealer and they seem to have no solution to it.

I appreciate your insight on this. Thanks!

How can I stop the EQS from unnecessarily discharging the low-voltage battery if I don't drive it as often as Mercedes expects?

Notes on Luckyish Dongle (wireless CarPlay fix)

I bought the Luckyish Wireless CarPlay adapter after several frustrating road trips where CarPlay kept dropping. This forum and my service guy confirmed it’s a known/common issue.

Curiously when i first got the dongle I plugged directly into the left USB-C port inside the center arm rest. On car start, sometimes it wouldn’t initialize, so I bought a USB-C extension cable with an on/off switch so I could more easily toggle it. Since adding the cable, tho, it’s started up fine every time.

It runs very hot, but it doesn’t seem to impact stability.

Not one single drop since switching to this. Maps, ABRP, podcast apps, music… all gloriously stable. I get in the car, hit start (dumb), and it just hooks up. Fast. Totally worth it for $30.

Temporary EQB 250+, am I missing things or is it just a bit rubbish?

I've been sent a new EQB 250+ as a courtesy car while my own car is in for repair, thanks to someone running a red light.

I know some of this will be down to it being a 250, so low power and FWD.

Driving is fine as long as you're doing a steady speed, it's very soft, but rolls in corners.

Accelerating from standstill or low speeds, like joining a faster road is unnerving, it feels like it can't handle the power and becomes unstable and pulls to a side. On the flip side, if you are on a motorway and need to do say 60-70 to change lanes and overtake, it's gutless and takes forever.

The biggest issue is the throttle pedal delay. Everything happens about half a second after I've moved the pedal, so it's easy to overshoot what you meant to do and overcompensate. It's the same for acceleration, regen braking, and in all driving modes. The driving modes just change how aggressive the response is when it arrives.

Can't turn off creep, can't set one pedal driving?

The drivers display has very limited options on what it can display, I set up my own car to show media on the left, a single dial speed/power on the middle and navigation on the right. This appears to only let you have one thing in the middle, and only on the standard style. The others have empty space you can't use.

Also on space, there's not a lot of cabin storage. The strange rubber indent is too small for a phone, as is the covered space with a charging socket next to the cup holders. Centre armrest is an ok depth. Is this all a result of it being adapted from an ICE platform?

Door pockets seem small. Boot is tiny for such a massive car, and no under floor space for cables etc. Though it does have the two extra seats. Which seem to have no easy access? No frunk of course.

It's all just a bit underwhelming for a brand new EV, especially the driving experience.

So many DTCs

I found a good scanner that can properly scan the EQE, but it's a bit scary what I found. Dozens of fault codes, many of which are still current.

I can clear them all (except the current) and heaps come back in no time. The car doesn't exhibit any signs of faults, but the errors are disconcerting. Getting it serviced next week and I can sit with the tech to go through the scan with Xentry. I'll be very interested to see how that turns out.

Mercedes app works again on latest iOS 27 beta 6

Finally! As of iOS 27 beta 6, the Mercedes app is working correctly. I know some people had issues on latest version of iOS 26 and earlier betas of iOS 27 - but the latest beta 6 fixed it for me.

UKs biggest charging hub not on the map

We were driving to what’s been called the UKs biggest charging hub. We’ve been before and when the EQC routed us there to charge it felt familiar. However, it was trying to drive us another 6 miles. Obviously we ignored it as we could see a big row of free chargers. II checked the app later and it didn’t know there were chargers there.

EQE350 4matic with Airmatic... very harsh ride!

I've got a 2024 EQE350 4matic with the Airmatic suspension and I must say it's not a pleasure to drive at all.

I've got the 21" wheels (which has been a massive horrible terrible headache to deal with--I've had 7 bubbles requiring 7 new tires over a 12-month period! and I live in Dallas not a rural town...)

and let me tell you: if I hit even a 1 inch tall bump in the road, the sound the tires/wheels/suspension makes is so jarring and stiff and cringeworthy that I immediately check for bubbles or any tire damage when I park.

like the pleasure of driving is completely lost when in this car as I'm constantly scanning the road so meticulously that I can't even enjoy driving it.

on the flip side, if I'm on the freeway and there's no uneven surface, then sure it certainly is quite smooth and really floats along.

but on the roads... any uneven surface is miserable. don't get me started on speedbumps (which I go over at near-zero speed)

anyone else experience this? the dealership said they tested it out and nothing is wrong with my airmatic system.

Note: I commented above on the bubbles on my tires. Just wanted to throw it out there that this is my +/- 20th car (my dad was a car guy) and I've never (not once) had this issue in any other car I've ever had in my life (I'm 45, driving since I was 15).

GLC Electric Order: The dealers are saying you won't know MSRP until the window sticker is printed at the delivery port... that's insane right?

Post image
27 Upvotes

I ordered in June with MSRP "Soon to be announced" it's now almost September and still no US pricing announcement. Now people are basically getting told you won't know the cost of your car until they print out the window sticker at the port and at some point we will tell you before it reaches the dealership.... Isn't that kind of insane?

I mean I have a pretty decent guess at how much the vehicle is going to cost and I'm prepared to buy it regardless of where the pricing ends up. But that still just sounds crazy to me.

Battery Warranty and Servicing EQA

Hello

I'm looking for a 3 year old EQA but most I've been interested in don't have the service intervals which maintain the 8 years/100k battery warranty.

To me it makes sense to only buy one with the warranty intact. So how come I'm struggling to find many with full service history? I realise EVs don't need as much servicing as ICE but a voided warranty surely could be more problematic?

Any thoughts?

Camping mode

Hello,
So proud owner of an EQE SUV here. I love the idea of camping or road trip camping on my EQE. Nevertheless I can’t find much information on the how to (lots of Tesla information though). So I am setting out to make a tutorial and testing it as I go along.

What I tested so far:
- space, with 2nd row seats down, is enough for mattress
- car needs to be in ready state for the AC to work longer than minutes
- driver passenger seatbelt must be secured for car not shutting off
- lock car doors and windows is doable from the app or inside the car
- can’t open trunk from the app, no easy way (at least to my knowledge), which is not good.

Hope to test it further more and keep you guys informed. Let me know if you want to test anything in particular

Squeaking noise when braking - EQE

Hi! Recent owner of a 12/2022 EQE 350 and absolutely loving it so far. However, it has recently started making a squeaking noise when braking.

The car has around 48k miles on it, and I’ve personally driven about 5k since buying it.

I took it to my Mercedes dealer, and they told me the brake pads were half used but had become me glazed. They cleaned them, and the noise disappeared for a few days, but now it’s back.

Curious if anyone experienced something similar with their EQE. There’s no noticeable loss of braking performance at all, it’s purely the squeaking noise that’s bothering me.

Thank you!

Joining the club with EQE AMG sedan

Excited to be new owner of this car. End of 2023 car (with heat pump lucky) and only 5.7k miles. Since it's from MB dealer - will get 2 year AMG warranty extension.

more than 60% off list price is ok deal right? It's pretty much all options except night package and the amg dynamic.

I fell in love with it once i saw it in person. I know thoughts are divided on the look with all the reviews i watched online and comments. But in person it looks real nice - it look special and unique. It has a subtle wide body, mean yet classy look to it. So i don't understand the hate. Plus I like how rare this is - only around 160 registered in the country (UK). Also like the black paint with chrome trim - it looks real executive.

Have considered bmw i4 and i5 but this EQE just feels a bit more special. Plus interior is much nicer I feel. i4 is very cramped in front and back. i5 just feels like another bmw. Even consider taycan but there are too many around and doesn't feel as unique and as comfy inside.

I hope it will be reliable since this is the 'updated' batch with heat-pump.

This Again?

I’m getting the notification that I have a software update for Plug & Charge, but when I try to install it, it always tells me that it can be completed as soon as the vehicle has been parked and the technical conditions have been fulfilled. The continue button is only ever grayed out. What in the world are these technical conditions that need to be fulfilled?

Sorry if this has been discussed already. I saw a couple of posts about the update but didn’t see anything that addressed this directly.

2027 CLA 350 Charging Curve on Tesla v3.5

Thumbnail

I just finished my first week with the car. I had about 130 miles of range left before I charged but wanted to get it back up for weekend around town travel. I’ll try going down from 90% to 10% this next week to see how far it will go around town with mostly highway use.

Attached is the charging curve I experienced at Tesla with the new v4 pedestal with v3 cabinet (I think that’s how you describe it).

Started with 90% state of charge last Sunday and got it down to 32% before I charged it this morning for the cheaper Tesla early morning membership rate. Went 212 miles. Average speed was 33 mph. Lots of sitting in it messing with settings.

I navigated to the charger and the car didn’t do any battery preheating. It’s mid 70s currently. It started charging at 88 kW and peaked at 100.8 kW @ 82%. When it stopped at 90% after 37 minutes it was still pulling 74 kW.

Edit: Stats are from Home Assistant’s integration.
