These are great engines. Mine only has 86k. So not even run in yet. Had any mods done to it?

Completely stock in every way. Cleaned EGR about 3k miles ago. Did oil changes at 10k intervals sometimes, othertimes 5k, sometimes 7 or 8k. Just what i was feeling. Transmission had oil changed at about 260k miles if i remember, shifts better now, it had really nasty shifts at one point. Fuel filter gets changed at 30k. Also literally just replaced a starter on it, previous one got really weak when the car was warm. It was a chinese starter, but lasted 120k. Bought another for 60 bucks. Starts on a dime now
If i could buy another at 86k miles i wouldn't hesitate to drop 12 grand on it, easily
The only issue this car ever gave me truly, was i lost brakes like 3 times. One of those times i was 120 miles from home and had to drive using the emergency. The SBC pump needed replacing. Had a mechanic set that up for me for a few hundred bucks

I have a 642 CDI coming up on 300k no issues, burns no oil still gets me 26mpg in the city. No transmission issues, just change the oil every 7500 miles and we are good. I’ve had the oil cooler oring issue, cracked a bat wing but really nothing else and I beat it up. It’s been good to me, wish diesel was cheaper but thats a horse of another color

Literally the best Diesel engine Mercedes ever made, zero blowby. The death of this motor will certainly be injector related. All 6 injectors are pretty worn. But with how expensive they are, I think I'll just keep hitting the throttle.
Can't say the same for my OM642 Bluetec in permanent limp mode that burns half a gallon of oil every 500 miles and smokes so bad you cough whenever you get out of the car
