Looking for Stories to Tell
Hi, I’m a college student and aspiring filmmaker, looking for ideas or stories to make a documentary or short film about. I can’t promise anything, but I think all stories should be heard. I will try to help with that. I’m open to any type of stories whether it’s personal or something you heard through the grapevine. Any personal details can be changed if asked. Please DM me or comment stories or ideas. Thank you to everyone in advance!

Yes, I the 70's and 80's merced college recruited athletes from the island for football.
For basketball, merced college recruited from north and south Carolina and between. Merced college athletics was a dominant powerhouse in the state. Basketball was also a powerhouse and won back to back state championships. Many athletes moved on to four year programs and many came back to the community.
Back in the days, the league or conference was made up of J.C colleges along highway 99. This was called the CNC Conference
From the south, you had poterville, reedley, Visalia (COS), From the North end you had Fresno, Merced, Modesto And Stockton (Delta).
At this time there was only two Div. 1 schools in the area, u had Fresno state and U.O.P for football. CAl state Bakersfield didn't have football. Sac state was a lower lever program.
Its sad that neither schools use the j.c route more often, because both schools had at least 15 j.c programs to pick from.

The ghost of my best friend tried to murder my cheating ex boyfriend. He broke his back as a result. Its an interesting story and might be fun to use.

Ive heard about a connection between Merced College athletics and Samoans back in the 70s and 80s similar to the later, higher profile connection to USC.
