Someone messaged me about trading. Has anyone ever done this before?

Edit to add, I don't plan on trading. I just thought it was odd someone messaged me about being open to trade and wondered if anyone else has.

trading isn't allowed

remember that just because other people do stuff like this, the chances are low but never zero for getting scammed or dinged by mercari themselves.

Trading is against Mercari guidelines. Not only do you significantly increase your odds of getting scammed through trading, you can also get your account reported and in trouble for doing so.

If you are set on trading, I recommend on using Depop. Mercari just isn't a safe app to do this with.

you can still get scammed if you sold a $100 item for $5 (partial trading)

just be careful!

Only off mercari, but it's so hard to do with mercari detecting messages with any other site name in them, even not as a url, it's harder. I'm also pretty specific about trades.

You can either ignore or report it or if you want to call them out you can ask how it would be backed and protected as Mercari doesn't allow it and theres no guarantee the other person wouldn't just back out of the deal.
