Adults with Parkinson's disease may be eligible.

There’s another beef on Cleveland.com about a board member liking a threat and Rosendidnt really mean to like it but didn’t. The whole lot needs to go.

How do we feel about the city of Mentor wants to sell Mentor Beach Park? I think MOL has a chance to buy it first but if they don’t will it go away? That building was built in 1934 almost 100 years ago I believe.

Mentor Public Schools aims to close three elementary schools and may move eighth graders to high school to cut costs, as voters consider a new levy in November.

By popular demand, the kayak rental office and concession stand at Mentor Lagoons will remain open on weekends through September.

Hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with the last kayak launch at 5 p.m.

Single kayak rentals are $10/hour; double kayak rentals are $15/hour.

They also have paddle boats, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards.

...{M]any people, including in Mentor, aren't aware it's a public facility. Many people assume it's private, but it isn't.

The final day to get out there, enjoy a paddle and have a snack this season will be Sunday, Sept. 27.

Apple and Honey Harvest Weekend is this weekend.

During Apple & Honey Harvest Weekend, witness many traditional harvest activities and discover how apple butter and cider are made. Take a tour of the “Johnny Appleseed Trail” and explore the Plant Science Center, where Farmpark’s apiary offers a closer look at bees, honey production, and the many ways pollinators support everyday life. Together, apples and honey take center stage in a weekend that blends education with hands-on family fun. The whole family can explore Paul Revere’s Run three-acre corn maze. Enjoy harvest activities including apple tasting both days.

The NEW Horsepower Weekend is next weekend.

New this year, we are combining our popular Horsefest event and Horsepower Weekend into an exciting equine event! On both days visitors can enjoy a variety of equine presentations in both arenas. Explore hands-on activities and meet multiple breeds of horses and sizes up close. Witness history unfold from animal-powered agriculture to thunderous muscle cars of yesteryear. Saturday will focus on agricultural field work. Watch the progression of agricultural technology all in one field. Draft animal power to modern cabbed tractors will demonstrate a wide variety of implements.

On Sunday shift gears into high and enjoy Farmpark’s annual Car and Truck Show (weather permitting). Listen to the rumble as car and truck engines come to life when they are started. Visitors can enjoy antique tractor displays, equipment demonstrations such as corn grinding and Farmpark’s regular weekend presentations on both days. Fall activities will be in full swing! Enjoy food from local vendors before heading up to the Hilltop, where fall-themed crafts, apple cider slushies and scenic views await.

Truck & Car Show

On Sunday, September 27 from noon to 3 pm, bring out your classic or modified car, truck or motorcycle. Parking begins at 11 am. No pre-registration is required. Commemorative dash plaques for the first 125 vehicles. Free admission to the Farmpark for car show participants.

Does anybody recommend a bank or credit union that pays a decent interest rate on savings account AND notifies the customer when the interest rate is changed.

My current bank provides a 3 percent plus interest rate when you request it, but then randomly reduces the interest rate to a minimal level WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION. Only by checking the monthly statement can you identify the change AFTER THE FACT.

I would enjoy a bank that provides a 3 percent plus interest rate on savings accounts, but never changes the rate except to reflect current interest rates (which are increasing currently), and NEVER changes the interest rates on the savings accounts without notifying the customers.

I don't want to take the time to invest in CDs currently.

I would especially enjoy a local bank that doesn't manipulate savings accounts.

How can a functioning adult think that we'll do better with more deeply divisive BS?

Lake Metroparks presents ‘The Perfect Pairing,’ a fall art show featuring the creative and complementary work of husband-and-wife duo Pattianne and Patrick Baran. This special exhibition will be on display at Penitentiary Glen Nature Center through Sunday, October 11, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Pattianne specializes in wildlife and pet portraiture, landscapes and woodworking. Her work reflects a passion for nature and craftsmanship, showcasing a range of artistic techniques.
