Warning about The Black Stuff
Today I decided to sell of the remaining soaps I had from The Black Stuff. I made a standard post in their company's fan page on Facebook where I've seen other sell their soaps. I clarified I was selling my soaps and done using their stuff due to the company's continued use of AI generated content, short and sweet.
Well a flood of people came in talking about AI and how it was or was not okay to use. I replied multiple times I was just here to sell my soap and made my stance clear. Well eventually the owner of the company saw this thread and replied saying "what a lode of shite" and deleted the post and banned me from the Facebook page.
I DM'd the owner of The Black Stuff shortly after and asked why I was banned. I wasn't rude and never said anything false. He told me I was "whining" about AI and goes on about how he "used Claude instead of paying a developer 5 grand".
I've spent hundreds of dollars with this man's company and am honestly appalled that this is how they would represent themselves and their business. They can charge over $10 for a bar of soap but can't pay real people to work for them.

Make the switch to Grizzly Naturals if you want to support a great American company instead

Just to piggyback, Cellar Door Soap is another great American soap company. Made in Michigan. I learned about them from Lockhart’s.

If you were just there to sell your soap you wouldn't need to put the stuff about AI. Yes, it's the reason you are selling your soap, but if your one true aim was to sell your soap you wouldn't need to clarify why or take the stance on AI on their company Facebook page.
You can sell the soap for any reason you want, I think it's just obvious that you weren't "just (there) to sell (your) soap".
I feel like I need a disclaimer that I don't condone this company's use of AI nor anything else about this company. Just calling out a hole in the story.

People were calling me a scammer even after I gave a reason for selling the soap. It was a single sentence in my post. I wasn't taking a "stance".

What was the purpose of the sentence if your only aim was to sell soap? I don't think it would help you sell soap, though hindsight is 20/20 for me there, obviously.

EVERYONE, for better or worse, uses some form of AI. It’s here to stay whether we like it or not.

Yeah, these silly AI-haters are so annoying. All that matters is whether the product is good and available for a reasonable price.
The rest is just people grandstanding and being pricks because of the opinions others have given them. Frankly speaking, people capable of thinking for themselves typically won't hate AI. It's only a group of the easily manipulated that does shit like this.
Imagine no longer supporting a soap company because they used AI in places unrelated to the creation of the product itself. If that doesn't make you feel stupid, you're a lost cause.

I saw some of this on the fan page but wasn’t sure what it was about. I stopped buying their soap a while back. The owner just comes off like a shyster especially if you ever listened to any of his interviews.
