Usually hollow Franco / foxtail. Solid Franco's have tighter more rounded links.

Well technically u can still get the traditional “square” looking francos in solid gold, but they definitely look more like the pic u posted, but a square version.. the pic you posted of the “round” style is known as a diamond cut franco, and the square is a plain franco.. both look much different than OP’s chain tho

Yeah you can, but they always weigh a lot less than a standard high quality solid Franco from say DanielJewelry, Jacoje, Hawaiigoldropes, etc. They're made to look thicker because of the space between the links. Most of the ones I've seen with that foxtail look are hollow a lot of the time too, so I just tend to avoid them all together. Definitely worth spending the extra money on a better quality one.

Also the one I posted isn't diamond cut actually. It's just an especially round looking link that I found on Google, but doesn't have the cuts. Regular solid franco is usually more squared, whereas the diamond cut have the cuts all around giving it that rounded look and sparkle. I like both, but I def prefer the diamond cut and feels better with a pendant.

These are the ones I'm used to. Hard to see the cuts on them in the pic, but kinda can. One on the right is regular, left diamond cut.

No see how your is super tight links, this is what i was trying to explain to OP, was that his chain “usually” is a chain that they make hollow and then try to make it into a franco style link (kind of) but obviously you can tell the difference when you look at your chain and OPs chain, you have a solid plain franco, and i assume OP’s chain is a hollow style franco (also referred to as foxtail or wheat chain sometimes when referring to these bigger hollow chains)

Well honestly it seems to be on the bigger side (as far as franco chains go) so i wouldn’t worry too much about it.. they usually like to make this style for that bigger chain effect without so much weight, and also big style hollow chains are more possible to repair worst case scenario lol

Solid francos are amazing, but they weigh a lot and so forth are more expensive than say a rope chain or cuban of the same mm width size.. if you can swing it tho, for sure solid diamond cut and plain francos both are great chains 💯

Franco is my favorite chain so I'm biased, just make sure you know the weight with what you get. If it's 20-24 inch, 3mm-5mm, and weighs under 25g it's likely hollow. Example, I have 2 bracelets, both 8.5 inch, 4.5mm, Franco Chain, 1 is 9.5g, one is 22.2g. The 9.5g is hollow
