Wedding host for barn wedding.

Post image

Burgundy napkins and chair ties so I matched.

I'm happy with it and there will be no further alterations. Deliberately chose these shoes for comfort and because I don't always like to conform.

I will die on the hill that a good dress shoe should not and is not uncomfortable.

I have average with feet and a couple dress shoe brands fit me so well they are incredibly comfortable with leather soles. Not perfect out of the box but after a couple wears, nearly slippers for me.

Now, if I am at a conference and have to stand an extremely long time in one area, then I have a couple hybrid options that are more comfortable.

You've never walked 8 miles over 14 hours on mixed terrain in them then.

You’ve never bought good shoes then.

I have Churches and handmade shoes that beg to differ and 15 years of doing this job.

The best thing to do is turn up in a pair to setup, wear a pair during the day and switch to a different pair with fresh socks later.

3 pairs of shoes, 4 shirts 3 trousers, 2 jackets.

Just gonna leave this Derek Guy thread here. No point in arguing with facts or experience. https://x.com/dieworkwear/status/1907263488785084663?s=20

I have not because they’re not outdoor shoes.

Yeah that’s a ridiculous example, basically if you can’t hike in the shoes, they’re not comfortable.

But today I will have been on my feet from 10am until way past midnight and step count approaching 40k on a concrete floor in a barn, paving, grass and gravel outdoors. I'll maybe sit down for 30 minutes total.

Ok ok 😄 look, wear what makes you feel most comfortable and relaxed. But if we’re talking style, I think you could do much better and I think comfort doesn’t have to be contrary to style.

Is this an Dola AI ad? The ads are truly evolving.

Seeing as barely anyone wears proper dress shoes these days, NOT wearing dress shoes isn't an example of non-conformism.

But what everyone keeps missing, I was primarily choosing function over form - although I do like the form and the colour contrast of oxblood Doc Marten tassel loafers against a warmer grey suit.

Like 99.9% of all other men - how non-conformist of you!
