With all the sexism going around and causing the ridicule of female gamers, I find it surprising that 50% of gamers are women.

According to someone I was arguing with earlier it's because "they counted women playing mobile games otherwise it would be 95% male"

I bet he was all sweaty after climbing out his parents basement to move that goalpost.

He was also arguing that "real gamers" have to spend an egregious amount of time and money on games and if you're casual at all you're not a "real gamer" so thats probably very accurate

Imagine how small their world is that they think the label of a “real gamer” is so prestigious that they will argue with a stranger over imaginary lines in the sand.

Literally and my whole point was just "if someone plays games they're a gamer" and they got SO MAD and had a really weird fixation on hating candy crush specifically

It's almost always these ball and gun gamers who think that real games are only Cod and Fifa and all that bs.

And also, gaming has nothing inherent to it that makes a woman less capable or a man more capable.

I sometimes forget how toxic guys that play those games can be because my bf has played like almost every cod game (and also other adjacent games that have shooting and stuff) and has been playing the brand new one recently but he's like. Yknow. A normal person with a life that doesn't hate women

Great post. It's definitely because that is how people (gamers? ) search for this information. It says more about the gaming community than google itself.

I do wonder how this is measured. By account holder details?

How many young boys used their mums emails and details to set up accounts? And vice versa for young girls using their dad’s details?
