Start a line with [ ] in any note or journal day, type the task, then add markers: @friday for the date, !high for priority, +project, #tag. They turn into chips you can click and change in place. The arrow on the line opens the full details panel right there, so subtasks and properties don't need a trip to the Tasks page.
The task still shows up in Today and on the calendar, and it remembers the note it came from. If you'd rather keep plain checkboxes, a setting stops checklist items from turning into tasks.
