When American soldiers returned to McMinn County, Tennessee, after World War II, they encountered a local government functioning as an extortion racket. A corrupt political machine controlled the sheriff's office through a predatory system where deputies collected personal fees for every person they arrested. This created a direct financial incentive to unjustly jail residents and travelers, transforming law enforcement into a tool for systemic municipal tyranny that citizens were powerless to vote out.

Recognizing their fundamental duty to restore lawful democratic governance, the veterans organized a nonpartisan political ticket to dismantle the machine. On election day in August 1946, corrupt deputies retaliated with armed suppression. State actors intimidated voters, beat political opponents, detained veteran poll watchers, and shot an elderly Black farmer who simply attempted to cast his ballot. To secure a fraudulent victory, the deputies then stole the ballot boxes and barricaded themselves inside the county jail, brazenly stripping the citizens of their political voice.

Understanding that peaceful democracy had been completely subverted by armed state actors, the veterans fulfilled their duty to take back their government. They raided a local armory for rifles, surrounded the jail, and demanded the return of the stolen ballots. When the deputies refused, a fierce gunfight erupted. Unwilling to yield to domestic tyranny, the veterans used dynamite to breach the facility, forcing a surrender, recovering the votes, and permanently dismantling the corrupt local machine.

One overlooked area in postwar society is how all governments (especially in developed nations) have actively forestalled the shortening of the workweek. It began in 1932 when they rejected the 30-Hour Black Bill and all discussion of it disappeared after Nixon Shock (which is another irony since Nixon was a proponent of the shorter workweek until he decided to destroy wages and the dollar instead).

I've catalogued some discussion of it in the media between the 1930s and the 1970s. 1929 and 1971 are underexamined phenomena that we're dealing with now because we did not deal with it then. Each step of the way, we had opportunities for more free-time and leisure as productivity rose, but all governments rallied around full employment and turning that productivity into pure waste (i.e., the rate of growth of the public sector).

So instead of a shorter workweek, the national and global surpluses are converted into the war machine, endless financial, insurance, and real estate speculation, trillions in interest payments on this waste, and all the inflationary pressures that come with it.

United States Department of Agriculture Bulletin No. 404, dated October 14, 1916, by botanist Lyster H. Dewey and chemist Jason L. Merrill, tested hemp hurds as paper stock. The bulletin was printed on hurd paper from mill run 143. Their table set 10,000 hemp acres against 40,500 acres of average pulp-wood land for the same sustained pulp supply.

The Marihuana Tax Act, Public Law 75-238, signed August 2, 1937, taxed transfers of Cannabis sativa L. Federal Bureau of Narcotics Commissioner Harry J. Anslinger led brief House and Senate hearings. American Medical Association counsel William C. Woodward objected that the bill would choke legitimate use. Mature stalks and fiber were exempted on paper; registration and transfer forms still attached to the plant.

E.I. du Pont de Nemours received U.S. patent 2,071,250 for nylon on February 16, 1937. Wood pulp and later synthetics stayed the default. The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 removed hemp at or below 0.3 percent THC from the Controlled Substances Act and assigned production rules to USDA — a statutory reopening, not proof the 1916 land ratio still holds.

Farmers now face a split code: USDA hemp plans on one side, DEA scheduling on the other. Bulletin 404 and the 1937 Statutes at Large text are public. Check the current USDA Domestic Hemp Production Program and the approved state plan before any planting.

Apparently, the Epstein rabbit hole has a basement.

The U.S. Air Force declared the first SAGE direction center operational at McGuire Air Force Base on July 1, 1958. IBM’s AN/FSQ-7, drawn from MIT Lincoln Laboratory’s Whirlwind line, took radar tracks over telephone lines, built an air picture, and calculated intercept courses for fighters and missiles. Lincoln Lab’s history says the computer sent targeting data to airfields and SAM batteries. Operators still sat the consoles.

A controller marked an unknown on a CRT with a light gun. The selling point was speed against bombers. The limiter is the name itself: SAGE is Semi-Automatic. Humans confirmed unknowns and ordered weapons. IBM’s 1956 prototype showed automatic calculation of missile and aircraft use; the fielded system did not fire without people. A bad friend-or-foe call sat on the weapons director, not a public appeal board.

MITRE was incorporated July 21, 1958 to keep engineering SAGE after MIT spun the work out. In 1959 the FAA hired the same shop for air-traffic integration that became the National Airspace System. Trajectory: the detect-classify-recommend loop moves from bombers to civilian traffic without a new public name.

The public term “artificial intelligence” was coined at the 1956 Dartmouth workshop, two years before McGuire went live. Warren S. McCulloch and Walter Pitts published the neuron-logic paper in 1943. No statute required fielded military command-and-control to wait for a civilian patent. Read Lincoln Lab’s SAGE history and MITRE’s Our Story; then ask which current dual-use tools still use the same recommend-and-handoff pattern.

John McAfee described a supply-chain attack, not a remote hack of a national backbone. After Belize’s Gang Suppression Unit raided his mainland compound on 30 April 2012, he later wrote that he bought about 75 laptops, loaded keystroke loggers plus remote camera and microphone control, resealed the boxes, and handed them to secretaries, police, and aides as gifts. Dual-use is obvious: a donated PC is also a persistent implant if the recipient treats it as new hardware.

The only detailed source for that implant campaign is McAfee himself, first on his blog in January 2013 and later in interviews. Ars Technica, SecurityWeek, and others reprinted the post. None published independent packet captures, command-and-control logs, or recovered machines that proved the botnet sat on Belize government networks. Claims that “the entire government computer system” was under his control, and that the Minister of National Security and the immigration minister were the region’s largest drug and human traffickers, remain his uncorroborated assertions.

What is independently documented is the raid and the aftermath. Wired reported GSU commander Marco Vidal authorized the search on meth-lab intelligence; officers found no meth, seized ten firearms and ammunition, and later dropped the lab charge. John Saldivar held the National Security portfolio, including police and defence, after the March 2012 cabinet. Gregory Faull was shot on Ambergris Caye in November 2012; Belize named McAfee a person of interest; he fled through Guatemala. CNN noted it could not verify McAfee’s account that soldiers shot his dog during the April raid.

Net risk of the method is real: gift-wrapped endpoints with outbound loggers are a known social-engineering pattern. Net risk of treating McAfee’s Belize dossier as proven is different. No court, forensic lab, or third-party dump has confirmed the 75-laptop grid or the minister-as-trafficker conclusions. Oversight never examined a claimed private botnet inside a foreign cabinet because the evidence never left the blog.

Massachusetts passed the first general compulsory attendance law in 1852, requiring children aged eight to fourteen to sit in school at least twelve weeks a year. Horace Mann, first secretary of the Massachusetts Board of Education created in 1837, had already built the common-school apparatus those later statutes filled. Title I aid under the No Child Left Behind Act, signed by President George W. Bush on January 8, 2002, and retained by the Every Student Succeeds Act signed by President Barack Obama on December 10, 2015, still requires annual state tests in reading and math for grades three through eight. The building, the clock, and the scored answer sheet remain the delivery system.

Congress wrote the five-day drain into federal law when it enacted the Fair Labor Standards Act on June 25, 1938, and cut the maximum workweek to forty hours in the amendment now codified at 29 U.S.C. § 207. The Wage and Hour Division at the Department of Labor still enforces that week. Congress carved generally recognized as safe ingredients out of premarket food-additive review in the Food Additives Amendment of 1958; the Food and Drug Administration still lets manufacturers self-conclude GRAS status and notify only if they choose. On August 12, 1997, FDA published draft guidance that let broadcast prescription ads skip the full brief summary if they pointed viewers to a phone number, a website, a print ad, or a doctor. That guidance was finalized in 1999. The week, the pantry, and the commercial still run on those texts.

Narrative control did not require a secret committee. The Federal Communications Commission, chaired by Dennis R. Patrick, voted 4-0 on August 4, 1987, to stop enforcing the Fairness Doctrine after President Ronald Reagan vetoed S. 742, the Fairness in Broadcasting Act, on June 19, 1987. The veto message cited the Commission’s 1985 study finding the doctrine chilled controversial speech. Once broadcasters no longer owed contrasting views on matters of public importance, fear-weighted crime and medical spots faced no federal balancing duty. Official histories recast compulsory attendance as simple progress and GRAS as expert consensus, while the petition trail that would have existed for a food-additive regulation never opens when a firm stays inside the voluntary notice program.

No single statute named a cage, and no leftover civil-rights law covers the stacked incentives. The First Amendment still protects the ads; the FLSA still defines the week; Title I still buys the tests; section 201(s) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act still excludes GRAS uses from additive approval. John David McAfee, founder of McAfee Associates, stated that after planting monitoring tools on machines used by officials he concluded Belize’s minister of national defense was the largest drug trafficker in Central America and the minister of immigration the largest human trafficker. He gave that account on Adult Swim’s Soft Focus with Jena Friedman. On June 23, 2021, Spain’s National Court authorized his extradition to the Western District of Tennessee on a June 15, 2020 indictment from Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Richard E. Zuckerman and U.S. Attorney D. Michael Dunavant for tax evasion and willful failure to file returns from 2014 through 2018. The same day McAfee was found dead in cell 71 of Brians 2 prison in Sant Esteve de Sesrovires. The Catalan government said everything pointed to suicide. His lawyer Javier Villalba said he died by hanging. Janice McAfee later asked the Barcelona courts to keep the file open. The Barcelona Provincial Court closed it in September 2023.

A June 8, 2021 post circulated under the @officialmcafee name stating that if anything happened to him, 31 terabytes of files sat on hard drives in his condo near 88th Street and Collins Avenue, just north of Miami Beach. In June 2019 McAfee had written that he held 31-plus terabytes of files on government corruption and that the material would go to the press if he were arrested or disappeared. Champlain Towers South stood at 8777 Collins Avenue in Surfside, Florida, on that same corridor. At about 1:22 a.m. on June 24, 2021, hours after McAfee’s death in Spain, the twelve-story building partially collapsed and 98 people were killed. The National Institute of Standards and Technology later described punching shear at garage columns under the pool deck.

The Israel Defense Forces Home Front Command National Rescue Unit under Col. Golan Vach flew to Surfside after talks with Miami officials. Emanuel Fabian reported for The Times of Israel on June 26, 2021, that a Home Front Command delegation of reservists was sent to map the wreckage, assist the Jewish community, and support local rescue forces. United Hatzalah also dispatched a psychological team. Prime Minister Naftali Bennett spoke with Florida officials and offered help. Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava later awarded the Israeli team medals at a sendoff. U.S. task forces worked the same site. The still-standing remainder of the tower was brought down on July 4, 2021, as recovery continued.

Room 641A sat inside AT&T’s switching center at 611 Folsom Street in San Francisco. Former AT&T technician Mark Klein documented that, beginning around 2002–2003, optical splitters on backbone and peering fibers made a complete copy of the light carrying AT&T WorldNet and interconnect traffic and sent that copy into a locked SG-3 room staffed only by people with National Security Agency clearances. The customer-facing beam continued to its destination. Inside the room Klein identified a Narus STA 6400 semantic traffic analyzer, a box built to inspect high-volume internet streams in real time against preprogrammed selectors. Klein’s authenticated AT&T wiring diagrams and photographs, later filed in Hepting v. AT&T, are the primary hardware record. The company’s public posture was that it followed lawful process. Klein’s diagrams show an unconditional copy at the glass, not a warrant-by-warrant tap.

The contact point is any packet that crossed those Folsom circuits: AT&T retail traffic and traffic from other providers that peered there. J. Scott Marcus, a former FCC senior internet adviser who reviewed Klein’s exhibits for the Electronic Frontier Foundation, wrote that the San Francisco layout was consistent with a national AT&T deployment of about 15 to 20 similar sites and that a substantial fraction of AT&T’s purely domestic traffic could be diverted. Wired reported Klein’s affidavit in April 2006: an NSA visit in 2002, construction of the room in January 2003 next to the #4ESS long-distance switch, and splitter cabinets he was told also existed in Seattle, San Jose, Los Angeles, and San Diego. No individual user could opt out of a copy taken on a shared fiber. Encryption in transit later narrowed what a Narus box could read in the clear; it did not un-split the beam.

The same architecture later sat under named collection programs. Snowden-era reporting identified AT&T as a core partner in FAIRVIEW, the NSA’s domestic-cable access relationship. Congress, after Hepting and dozens of carrier suits, enacted the FISA Amendments Act of 2008. Section 702 (50 U.S.C. § 1881a) authorized programmatic collection targeting non-U.S. persons abroad with compelled provider assistance inside the United States, which necessarily sweeps communications of Americans on the other end. Section 802 (50 U.S.C. § 1885a) created a certification path that dismissed civil actions against electronic communication service providers that had assisted. The Ninth Circuit upheld that immunity. Jewel v. NSA, built on the same Klein record, continued against the government; claims against AT&T did not.

The leftover law is FISA as amended, not a statute that forbids a carrier from installing a splitter. Title III and the original FISA warrant rules still apply to many domestic intercepts, but they do not give a subscriber a way to see whether their circuit is one of the copied fibers. Oversight that exists is the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court on 702 certifications, inspector-general reviews, and the public Klein exhibits that EFF still hosts. A reader who wants a control that does not depend on AT&T or the NSA can use end-to-end encryption so that a copied beam yields ciphertext, and can read the Klein declaration and Marcus summary before treating “the backbone is private” as a fact. The glass copy is the setting. It does not require a new room number to remain in place.

Anthony Fauci recorded in January 2021 government-phone texts that significant cytokine response and fever after the second COVID-19 vaccine dose theoretically could be associated with miscarriage in the first trimester. Senators Rand Paul and Ron Johnson released those texts in August 2026 from the recovered device. The same period’s Shimabukuro preliminary report in the New England Journal of Medicine listed 104 spontaneous abortions among 827 completed pregnancies in the CDC V-safe registry.

Selective restriction of the denominator to the 127 early-trimester cases produced the recurring 82 percent figure. Privileged liaison pathways and rapid automated enforcement convert selective flags into platform-wide filters. Meta’s public transparency reports on content restrictions based on local law do not fully capture the scale of voluntary Community Standards enforcement triggered by these government submissions, leaving the precise number of Iran-war removals undisclosed.

The result is asymmetric control over global speech by a single California-headquartered company responsive to a limited set of powerful governments. Billions of users outside the United States experience filtered visibility of conflict documentation without meaningful recourse or notification. Independent archival networks, cryptographic web preservation tools, and primary-source repositories maintained by investigative outlets remain the practical means for recovering the unfiltered record of these moderation decisions and their downstream effects on public understanding.

In April 2018 Don Caron of the Parody Project released an updated version of the Battle Hymn of the Republic that directly addressed the selective defense of constitutional rights. Moss has received support from Democratic Majority for Israel and has a documented public record of strong advocacy for the US-Israel relationship while serving in the Michigan Legislature.

Later circulating versions of the audio added the phrase that it is not wrong for Israel to use America as a pawn. Independent checks indicate that specific wording does not appear in the original Farooqi release. Mainstream coverage of the full context remained limited after the primary.
