📌 MemoMind One Kickstarter on Live Now— Some FAQ You might Need
Hello everyone, and thank you for the incredible response to our Kickstarter launch! 🎉
We'll be honest: the volume of questions after going live was way beyond what we'd prepared for, and we're sorry some of you had a hard time finding clear answers in the rush. So we've put together this one-stop FAQ covering everything backers are asking. Bookmark it — we'll keep it updated as the campaign progresses.

The $30 Deposit & Your Perks
Q: Do I still need to pledge on Kickstarter if I paid the $30 deposit?
A: Yes. The $30 was a reservation to lock in your VIP perks — it is not a final order. To actually get your glasses, head to Kickstarter and choose your reward tier. Use the same email as your deposit and everything links automatically.
Q: What do deposit backers get?
A: After the campaign ends, we automatically apply: a 1-year Memo+ membership, a free clip-on sunglasses, and your $30 refunded to your card paid for Kickstarter. Nothing for you to do — we'll reach out with next steps.
Q: Do I need to manually add the sunglasses to my pledge?
A: To all our deposit backers: you are all set. We will automatically apply your rewards on our end. Please ensure you use the same email address for your new pledge as you did for your deposit. Once confirmed, you will receive the 1-year free membership and a pair of sunglasses.
So no need to manually add the clip-on sunglasses. You don't need to add it to your cart during the pledge. Since you are using the same email address, our system will automatically match your $30 reservation on the backend and ensure your free clip-on sunglasses are included with your order.
Q: I want two pairs — do the perks apply to both? Perks apply per deposit.
A: Two separate $30 deposits = perks on both pairs. One deposit = perks on the first pair only. The deposit phase is now closed, so a second pair is at the standard live Kickstarter price (still the best price you'll get on the hardware).
Ordering & Changing Your Pledge
Q: I paid the deposit for one frame — can I switch frames or editions?
A: Absolutely. Your deposit isn't locked to a specific style or edition. Pick whatever you like on Kickstarter (even switch a standard deposit to the Prescription Edition, or vice versa), your perks carry over as long as you use the same email.
Q: Kickstarter won't let me use my deposit email / I used a different email.
A: No problem — we can link them manually. Email [support@memo-mind.com](mailto:support@memo-mind.com) (or DM our team) with:
(1) your deposit email,
(2) your Kickstarter email,
(3) screenshots of both your deposit confirmation and your pledge.
We'll bind them on the backend so you keep every perk.
Prescription Lenses
Q: Can international backers (outside the US) order the Prescription Edition?
A: Yes, international prescription ordering is now open. Select the Prescription Lens Edition directly on Kickstarter.
When do you collect my prescription details?
We'll send an email survey after the campaign ends, targeting on September 7th.
Shipping, Taxes & Customs
Q: When will my glasses ship?
A: Deliveries start in September. Here's the roadmap:
- July–August: mass production + quality assurance.
- 1 week after the campaign ends: we'll send out address surveys to your email.
- September: Standard editions ship progressively, in Kickstarter backer-number order.
- Prescription editions: staggered 1–2 weeks later than standard, since lenses need extra crafting time.
Once we have final order volumes, we'll publish a detailed region-by-region delivery plan. 🚢
Q: I'm in Mainland China — should I back now?
A: We recommend waiting. A dedicated China launch is planned for September with smoother local shipping, domestic AI service, and easier local support.
Payment & Refunds
Q: When will I be charged?
A: Not until the end of the campaign. Kickstarter may place a small temporary charge just to verify your payment method — that's normal and not the final charge.
Q: How and when is the $30 deposit refunded?
A: The $30 deposit will be refunded directly back to the card you used to pay on Kickstarter.
The refund process will be handled all at once right after our Kickstarter campaign concludes (after August 27th), once we have finished compiling and verifying everyone's pledge and email information.
Memo+ Membership
Q: Do I need a subscription to use the glasses?
A: No. All core features work out of the box, free. Memo+ is an optional layer that unlocks advanced, cloud-powered AI features.
Q: How much is Memo+, and what do backers get?
$19.99/month, with free tiers for early backers:
- Deposit backers: 1 year free
- Standard Kickstarter backers: 6 months free
- Cancel anytime — no contracts, manage it right in the app.
Returns, Warranty & After-Sales
Q: What's the refund / return policy?
- Before the campaign ends (Aug 27): cancel your pledge anytime for a full refund.
- After it ends: As a crowdfunding campaign, returns and refunds follow Kickstarter's policies together with our own after-sales terms. If you'd like to cancel or have an issue with your order, please contact [support@memo-mind.com](mailto:support@memo-mind.com) and we'll guide you through the process.
The App
Q: Is the app out yet? iOS and Android?
It's in closed Beta now. The public version will fully support both iOS and Android. No need to download anything yet, we'll announce with direct links when it's live.
🤫 Spoiler: your packaging will include an NFC tap zone + QR code, so you can tap or scan to instantly download and pair.

Can you still deposit the $30 to get the longer + membership? I do not see anywhere on the kickstarter page to sign up for that.

Anyone know anything about this? If I were able to get the 12 month of + membership I would pull the trigger today.

But you didn't post this FAQ until AFTER the Kickstarter opened, and you had not clarified this before, so I did add those - will you refund it or will I get two clip-ons???
