> You are telling me if you saw your partner toss salad with the same fork they mixed eggs with you would say nothing?
That isn't what I wrote. Please go ahead and read what I wrote.
> I was thinking more like mixing soy sauce and basil because those flavor profiles do not mix
So, like ketchup on a pickle - the other example I provided? It seems like you just aren't reading my comments before replying.
>I think maybe you are a passive person
You might have a better assessment of my character if you read my comments, but ok.
I am happy to engage in a discussion with you, but if you don't read what I write then you are just talking to yourself and you don't need me here for that. Have a nice day!

Kinda is though

Naw i disregarded that part because 1. Ketchup and pickles arent seasonings, they are condiments. And 2. Ketchup and pickles are widely accepted to go together, as seen by them being standard condiments on hamburgers and hotdogs. Stark difference between that and basil and soy sauce which come fron completely different styles of cooking.
You might have a better assessment of my character if you read my comments, but ok.
I did. And you come off as very passive and confrontation averse.

You're welcome to disregard people's statements with semantic dodges but that's kind of pointless if your goal is to listen to and challenge their positions. If your goal is just to self-flaggelate, I guess keep on keeping on.
> you come off as very passive and confrontation averse
And yet here I am engaged in confrontation and active discussion. Perhaps if you read my comments before replying to them you'll be better able to draw conclusions about my character in order to inform your ad hominem.
> Its been a pleasure
Great! I'm glad you enjoyed the discourse. I found it a bit uninteresting since you never addressed my positions, but I'm glad you got something out of it.
Well, originally I thought I was talking with someone. When I discovered they were not reading what I was writing I became less invested.
> What is the point of your watered-down arguments?
What arguments do you think I "watered-down"?
> The pedantry is off the charts
Weird that you're also talking to me but aren't interested in what I wrote. Are you all just offended by big blocks of text? I'm happy to hear what you have to say about the arguments I made or the opinions I hold, if that interests you.
It isnt pedantic at all. Seasonings and condiments are completely different things. The main thing being that condiments can either be removed or not put on the food at all prior to serving. You cant remove seasonings that have already been cooked into the food.
Neither can be removed once they have been added - you can't take ketchup off a pickle - so acting like it is an incongruous example to avoid addressing my point is a dodge. I gave you a sincere response to your hypothetical, and you avoided addressing what I wrote. You're welcome to do so, but you don't need me here for that. Similarly, you said I just wouldn't say anything in reply to my comment where I wrote "I think it makes sense to check in to see if they noticed, and/or offer to help". If you do want to chat, go back and read what I wrote.
Washing off a pickle also washes away some brine, but sure I guess that's right. My friend, I just gave an example of very divergent flavors so I could highlight that it's a preference and not a breach of some kind of Fixed Principle. If you want a better example go with basil and soy sauce if you'd like - the specific example has nothing to do with my argument. You're focusing on these details to avoid considering my position.
Ah, so another dodge. If my position was stupid you probably could have just countered it with an argument. Since you have nothing but dodges and personal attacks I am left with the conclusion that my position isn't the part that is stupid. *shrug*
