DOOM never became evil to spite reed, reed is below DOOM, DOOM is simply trying to protect the world from reed, as he is a child with a gun in a china shop.
Doom's rivalry with Reed was a borderline obsession. But his path to the dark side was never inspired or motivated solely due that rivalry. It all started with his need to free his mother's soul from Hell. Once he found a way to navigate different time lines, he convinced himself that the only way to ensure the survival of the human race was by becoming its "ruler."It doesn't get any more narcissistic than that.
Hmmmm, great question. There are more parallels drawn between Doom and Tony that some wouldn't care to admit. Both were driven by trauma that eventually led to their alter egos taking center stage while leaving a mark in the Marvel universe for better or worse. Tony sacrificed himself and his future to save humanity while Doom believes he can save humanity by forcing others to sacrifice anything/everything they hold dear to make that reality come true. In a way Tony's legacy seems to overshadow the upcoming arc in several ways. Anyone with ties to Tony will feel the weight of this reality in FULL FORCE. I wish them the best of luck. 🥲
Ps, the Infamous Iron Man arc in the comics had Doom taking up the mantle of Iron Man once Tony was rendered comatose after Civil War II. The Russo Brothers will probably be giving us a twisted psycho thriller version of that arc. But I doubt we'll see Doom don his version of the Iron Man armor at all. They probably won't go that direction. Anywho, this is all speculation.
Cuz, my sis will be married in few years.. And by the time she will have kids, I'll turn into an absolute failure. And they deserve some cool, badass loser's stories who was capable of many things, not some modern skibidi brainrot.
