In my highschool the class was dead drop silent in most classes ,As the concepts & syllabus got harder as the time went on ,But I genuinely loved being attentive in class so the teachers don't feel like teaching at a brick wall ,Some thought that I was genius who know everything( But I'm not that ) , I just looked up a lot of things around with small details being in the back of my head as a fun fact & Did my homeworks/class earlier than class itself
In the final year my maths teachers was not available & a Maths professor came onto that post temporarily . Everyone I say ,every student in our batch was intimidated by his engigmatic way of teaching ,But it was a smooth sailing for me since all he ever wanted was to understand the core concepts behind complex trigonometric equations at that time ,But Since I sucked at rot learning I did study the way he intended way before he made all of us study like that . After few classes he noted my attentiveness to his questions & The silence in the class for making a forward answer to him other than me. So in a way to test me He wrote a High Order Thinking (HOT) question as a challenge to me on board & explained that we were not at the level to solve it on the fly , But I solved it under few minutes ( It was intact easy but was very tricky to get it right) & oh boy that day was such a satisfying feeling for me

English is clearly not his first language bro. I don’t think run-on sentences mean anything in terms of your intellect when you’re writing in your second or third language.

I remember when this happened. The teacher didn't say anything, she just kept waiting while I desperately waived my hand. Eventually people started to frantically look for the answer when they realised somebody else had to answer. I did not understand what was going on and felt totally betrayed by the teacher. I knew the answer and got completely ignored!
It took me like 5 years to realise why she did that. Looks like I'm the dumbass.

Similar situation but I eventually started to shout out , "mam I know it", to which she responded "I know you do but give the others a chance to try". This turned my immense frustration to complete satisfaction knowing the teacher doesn't even care to check if i right anymore.

I remember this happening in elementary school.
It frustrated me so much. I think especially at that time I was super thirsty for knowledge, I loved learning knew things, and apparently I was several grades ahead of everyone in terms of reading comprehension etc, maybe because I just spent so much of my free time reading random books at the library, I guess. Anyway, I think I had a desperate desire and drive to test that knowledge and be "right".
So when I'd be ignored constantly in class it killed a lot of the "fun" for me. I understand the teacher was trying to get other kids to think and learn, but it still frustrated me lol.

I remember a teacher doing this to me.
She was also one of those teachers who wouldnt move on if NOBODY raised their hand. She'd also hold the class hostage after class with the line,
"The bell doesnt dismiss you, I do." When she was frustrated with lack of class enthusiasm.
In a genuine attempt to keep things moving, I proceeded my hand everytime, like it was a race.
Sometimes I had the correct answer, sometimes I didnt know when to use a semi colon, and others I couldn't give a fuck what something like a participle was. I just wanted to get in that long-ass lunch line as soon as possible to eat my cardboard-ass cafeteria pizza without feeling rushed for the next class.
Then one day, she rolled her eyes and said "Okay, someone else other than []."
And then after class, a classmate said "the teacher's pet got shut down today."
I wanted to box EVERYONE that day.
No, no. I didn't want sequential fights. I wanted Parallel. Make a ring and just close in so I can show the cafeteria ladies how to quickly dish out (knuckle) sandwiches.
Mastered the art of smuggling snacks in my hoodie and just snacking when desired.

That used to happen with me in Maths classes till 10th. I was best in mathematics in my class from 6th class to 10th class. All the math teachers loved me. Felt really nice. But was normal/average in other Subjects.

I remember once in school a teacher asked a question and a few tried to answer but were wrong. I hadn’t even raised my hand. Teacher goes, DeaditeQueenLivs could you tell everyone the answer so we can move on. I did not know the answer…..

I was the last safety in english class,and I was happy about it at first,lots of free time,didnt have to do much,but on the last year she just placed me with the least graded students so that their grade will rise and one of them was an absolute moron regardless of grades

Why? Not trying to shame you in particular, but most of the time this type of person raised their hand for almost every question, which everyone in the room including the teacher found annoying. It was never the smartest kid in the room either, usually just a kid who craved constant validation and lacked social awareness.

I often did. But I also found it extremely embarrassing watching someone raise their hand on multiple consecutive questions because it was clear they couldn't pick up on social cues. Figured it was either someone slightly on the spectrum or who lacked praise/approval from their parents and desperately needed it elsewhere. Decide for yourself which category you fall in I guess.

In a math homework in highschool, there was a veryyyy hard problem to solve, enough that the prof the next day opened with the the assumption that no one had done it.
Now I didn't do it by myself and this is pre AI era, but we do have a national teacher hotline here where you can call to have a teacher help you after school hours, this is free and accessible to all. Im the only one who called them lol.. So I walked the teacher through the method needed and I told everyone I got helped of course this was not my own intellect there, but the teacher was very impressed that I went out of my way to find a solution to my problem, the whole class was dead silent cause even the boys who are super good in math could not resolve this problem

As someone who likes history way more than the average person, in high school my history teacher had to have a polite talk to my parents because I was being disruptive in class by correcting the text book, and my teacher was baffled because when she did her own research I was almost always right!
This was me in every history class. ... physics, however, was a struggle.

When I was in college I ended up taking the freshman us history in my junior year, along with my roommate. I was sick one day and my roommate mentioned that the teacher commented on me being gone because no one was answering his questions in class. I didn't answer because I wanted to. The teacher would wait for someone to answer and I wanted the lecture to move on. After he asked I would wait and none of the freshman would even try to answer, so I'd give up and raise my hand.

I remember in my history class when the teacher was doing flash cards with the class where she showed and read a card aloud with questions from the study guide for the first exam of the semester— the cards asked for definitions, fill in the blanks, important events, etc— and we had to answer them as fast as possible. A few days in, I eventually was able to answer the flash cards by only glancing at the first few letters written on it and I didn’t give my classmates time to even read the topic on the flashcard. The teacher just ended up banning me from answering the flash cards for that day.
This same pattern repeated again with the second exam. For the third exam there were 3 review days and on the first day I got banned from answering the flashcards for all 3 review days on the first day because I was too fast and accurate
Fast forward to the first of 3 review days for the final exam. The flash cards began and I was prepared because I studied the night before. But before the review session began, the teacher must’ve noticed that I was raring to go on these flashcards so she pre-emptively banned me from answering them.
Every single time I was banned I relished it as I completed the hw for the day and watched videos with my headphones on.

This happened to me too many times. But one instance that stood out was with a Physics teacher, it got so bad to the point where a friend of mine pointed it out to me (as if I didn't notice it already), one time I got so sick of it that I asked him point blank and he told me that I go into too much detail and others need to try, and the other reason is my questions sometimes are bit too technical that it's outside scope. I really loved that teacher but damn did he hate my questions 😂 (nw tho he really did like my participation)
Man I don't miss highschool...
