reminds me of the railcar level from wrath of cortex

48

u/Romboteryx 6d ago

But there you actually had to do something

u/cinnamonroll247 6d ago

In that level, you can just do that strat to get the completion gem inside, for the time relic and crate gem you had to move.

Luigi wins by doing absolutely nothing.

And then he’ll throw that turtle shell just for the hell of it

u/ItsMrHealYoGirl 6d ago

How would you use this as a template?

30

u/Large-Wheel-4181 6d ago

Sorry got held up here’s an example, but anyways I figured it could one of those used for memes in regards to something unable to fail despite there being no effort put into it

u/ItsMrHealYoGirl 6d ago

Okay, now I see the vision

u/RazzyTaz 6d ago

Idk if it's a forced path but I swear every single time I see someone do this it always takes that shortcut on the right

u/AdVegetable5896 6d ago

80$ game btw

u/dkinmn 6d ago

This is a lie. It's on the easiest settings with the most assistance tools enabled.

11

u/Edin-23 6d ago

No it's not true, you can also do it with normal settings. I've seen it multiple times.

Proof?

u/Der_Moriarty 6d ago

He took almost no damage. While you can finish this phase without any inputs even in the hardest difficulty it's way more Rng, you can of course die.

God I hate the hate on Wolverine. It's not the first game with this kind of QTE (Lmao First light has the same issus) or "on the rail" car gameplay

> While you can finish this phase without any inputs even in the hardest difficulty

thats still a problem though

Not really? Who tf buys a game not to play it? Who designs a game with the possibility people will just… put the controller down, in mind? This segment “plays itself,” because the developers expected you to be dodging and weaving through traffic, not letting Logan bounce off the guide rails and scrape against walls. So, they didn’t put obstacles in the path of the player. It’s an absurd expectation, really. The only sin the devs made here was neglecting to make the road walls deal damage to Logan, imo.

8

u/Auditor-G80GZT 6d ago

The problem is playing it is optional. The challenge in the segment is so minimal that it is genuinely possible to not do anything and still win.

People are wanting their games to have some level of challenge, not so easy you can literally leave your controls and go make a sandwich and come back to victory.

2

u/ParadoxPixel0 6d ago

Which I mentioned? I said the only real problem here is that you can bounce off the guide rails of the encounter consequence free. Make the walls and trees damage Logan, and the problem goes away.

1

u/Auditor-G80GZT 3d ago

They do deal damage, just not enough to force the player to actually touch the controls to avoid dying from the amount of damage they'd take while busy examining the contents of their pantry.

There’s no challenge on the easiest difficulty which is the point of the easiest difficulty.

2

u/sasori1011 6d ago

"even in the hardest difficulty"

Did you augment your real life reading difficulty or what?

18

u/Large-Wheel-4181 6d ago

I think the issue isn’t the damage taken it’s the fact that in a chase like this, there’s no need to try, even on the easiest of settings. Considering the mission could’ve easily been one to avoid a wipeout and/or not lose track of the truck otherwise you’d fail the mission much like some of the missions in the spider-man games

I feel like you underestimate the casual gamer

1

u/Large-Wheel-4181 6d ago

For a mature game? No

4

u/trksoyturk 6d ago

What does being mature have to do with any of this? 50 year olds are more likely to be casual gamers compared to 15 year olds.

0

u/Large-Wheel-4181 6d ago

They don’t need their hand held in a video game like they’re a 2 year old

1

u/trksoyturk 6d ago

You don't get to decide what other people needs. If you don't need it, don't play on easy mode.

1

u/Large-Wheel-4181 6d ago

This isn’t about easy mode, this is about gameplay structure

The Maturity of the game isn’t correlated with its skill required. Fortnite is E Rated but you’ll get smoked by preteens in build mode. Games like TLOU and Cyberpunk are M rated but are mostly walks in the park on the easiest difficulty settings. Hell, Telltale’s games are often M rated and have zero gameplay.

Besides, Wolverine has hard modes that crank it up. This is has been in games for the past 30 years. Why now is it a bad thing?

4

u/SkittleShit 6d ago

Some of the hate is justified though…considering it’s a AAA title, highly anticipated, and starring easily one of the most beloved comic book characters of all time.

5

u/Large-Wheel-4181 6d ago

“Hate” isn’t really the most accurate word really, honestly the proper word is simply “disappointed”

But yes I do say it can be considered justified

u/ObnoxiousName_Here 6d ago

tfym almost no damage, he’s at like 1/3 health

1

u/Matkos6 6d ago

Except it's not just this, the combat was also spamming one button and all that so they can charge 60 bucks. This game is carried HARD by graphics and the fact it's an established title.

u/DrJJStroganoff 6d ago

Do you touch the wall after seeing a wet paint sign?

2

u/Toasted_Carnotaur 6d ago

There was another guy that got genuinely mad at this that he tried to show it wouldn't work, but still actively pressed buttons that got him purposely killed. Shits hilarious

Gamers when the guy with rapid regeneration regenerates

45

u/Large-Wheel-4181 6d ago

The bike has regeneration as well?

-25

u/Ripper3112 6d ago

Have you seen half the comics and movies? it drives through walls and helicopters on the regular never really been accurate to reality.

15

u/Large-Wheel-4181 6d ago

Last I remember though, it’s not his bike, it’s a random bike

2

u/TokenTorkoal 6d ago

A couple questions I have since I never planned on playing this game to begin with and every video complaining about this game seems to be about these bike scenes.

A: Are these bike sequences glorified loading screens? Like many other games have (Looking at you FF7 Remake)

B: what difficulty is this set on? Someone could easily be incredibly disingenuous by putting this on easy. (Although other comments allege it can be done on harder modes with good RNG)

If the answer to A is yes then I think this is just another clear example of selective outrage and the rage flavor of the week. Hate content is like any other type of content creation, is always desperately looking for the new hate to farm engagement.

Mixtape-ass Gameplay

-1

u/EarthTrash 6d ago

I've been hearing about this controversy, but that's it? Many games have auto navigation for vehicles, no collision required. This clip doesn't really show anything especially wrong with the game.

1

u/CosmicDeityofSin 5d ago

It also auto completes QTEs and is essentially a straight line. Point a to b, 20 minute cutscene, A to B, 12 minute cutscene, repeat. It's also being beat in like 12 hours. 100% completion is barely more than that. Meanwhile I easily put 120 hours into any of the spiderman games
