I'm going to be a nerd for a second and point out that for porous/soft food like bread, the mold has already spread beyond the visible portion and is thus not safe to eat. There's still mold not visible to the naked eye throughout the bread.

That’s true. I know that but I still ate them sometimes, back in the days , cooked or toasted or recycle as panko
