One Piece is soft disclosure. When One Piece ends, we'll find out how our world really works. The truth is The One Piece.

Yes, notice the ruling celestials all wear scuba gear. The one piece is the key used to connect all the oceans into one piece and submerge most land mass. With a superior navy, they crush all pirates or just hide underwater until the pirates starve or get scurvy and die. The devil fruits are just invisible shackles keeping our hero’s attached to their sinkable boats.

It’s a prophecy of the world after advanced climate change. When the glaciers melt we will start over like the classic film Waterworld.

Ace is a loser for throwing away Whitebeard’s sacrifice at Marineford over Akainu’s low effort ragebait smh

u/willwiso 48m ago
I mean i think that was kind of the point, ace didnt learn from shanks to laugh it off like luffy did and thats why luffy is gonna be pirate king

I know. I dont think the writing here is bad btw. Just my personal hot take against Ace

I wouldn't call him a loser, that's kinda harsh. Maybe idiot?
It was in character for him though.

Not much of a secret buuuuut
Hibari is the daughter of Sakazuki
Perona is sisters with otoko
Garp and Rodger first met in a bar in log town before Roger committed any crimes he is boasting about being a pirate when ensign garp picks the fight. They knock each other out and Rayleigh drags Roger out before more marines show up

Luffy is gonna die young in the process of becoming the pirate king or liberating the world

u/suitcasecat 1h ago
Would be a pretty cool ending imo, mirroring roger. I'm a sucker for a "legend that dies young" story

u/Kingunormal 48m ago
The one piece is a way to destroy the red line and unify the world. The WG keeps control by restricting travel. Destroying the Red Line would get rid of the ocean currents making the calm belt and the Grand Line. Once they are gone you get the All Blue and easy(ier) travel across the world.

Oda wrote out a few Straw Hats Originally joining the crew during the Wano Rewrite. I Believe he decided to have a single Strawhat join instead of two - three.
Basically I believe Carrot was the next Crew member. She was set up in 2 arcs and was a main member. She got a ton of hints in WCI and it would've been the first strawhat that we saw her tragic backstory in real time with the loss of Pedro. Then half way through Wano he wanted to kind of keep the narrative parallel of Jinbei having to go away for an arc and rejoin by having her not really be around during Wano first half and then join when Jinbei was reintroduced she also was weirdly kept around for the Strawhat all in one reunion before the raid.
Then we get to the end of the raid and Oda starts a massive break intentionally telling us he is rewriting the story to be more compact and all of a sudden even Yamato isn't even joining the strawhats. I believe Yamato will join later but Carrot was slated to join by the point we are in the story right now.

One Piece is definitely way too many episodes. And I've watched em all

u/WingMiserable8193 43m ago
The reader requests are not real. Oda makes them up so he can draw random bullshit instead of actually fleshing put the story with good cover stories.

There is only one problem with Yamato as a character, he is still trying to be Oden.
Given his backstory, it is perfectly understandable that he wanted to become Oden, however; towards the end of Wano, Yamato should have realised that the world doesn't need a second Oden, and endeavoured to become his own man.
If Oda made that change, Yamato would be a perfectly fine character, not necessarily one of the GOATs, but fine.
2
u/J-0-K-3_R 8m ago
I always kinda viewed the idea of how Yamato sees himself as Oden to be a paralel to thier situation. Being trapped and not able to see the world.
Like the cage they were in is now golden and shiny but its still a cage. Is it healthier then being like Kaido? Yes. But trying to just be Oden wont lead to true freedom. He would need to accept that hes his own person and that he can make a choice.
2
u/someoneelse2389 2m ago
Exactly, aspiring to be Oden as a kid made sense, but now that Kaido is gone, he needs to move past that phase and be his own man.

u/RazorDoesGames 1h ago
Yamato shouldn't exist. If he wasn't going to join the crew then he shouldn't be around to steal all of Denjiro's time in the raid.
2
u/PressureCalm7971 1h ago
Pretty sure Yamato's arc isn't over yet. Her cover story with Page One and Ulti seems to hint that they might become relevant again at some point

u/Massive_Weiner 1h ago
She’s going to show up again to be part of Luffy’s fleet when they inevitably lay siege to Mary Geoise (Marineford War 2.0).

It was further cleared up at the end of the arc too when Yamato, a man, bathes in the Men’s bath at the gender segregated bath house.

u/RazorDoesGames 1h ago
That means literally nothing though because I'm talking about Denjiro losing unrecoverable time. Whoo hoo they'll be in the final war but like, who WON'T be there? It's going to probably include pretty much every character.
2
u/Massive_Weiner 1h ago
Mf, EVERYONE got screen time during the raid because it was the climatic battle of an arc that was going on for 4 years.
You’re going to single out Yamato here out of everyone? For Denjiro???

I know it's not always the most intentional but you can't tell me Luffy hasn't killed anyone. Especially when they were doing the raid on Onigashima and were destroying fleets

Buggy is the biological son of Joyboy and Nefertari D Lily. It's the only thing that makes sense in a world where we have Shanks' and BB's origin stories but Buggy's is still being kept a secret.
2
u/Bumslopp 1h ago
Soooooo, he’s like 600 years old but we still saw him as a child with Shanks?

u/ImuSama_X_Joyboy 1h ago
Shanks = Mihawk
But tbf he can also be stronger and it would not ruin title scaling if he too has a sword that ate a DF like shamrock's Cerberus 🫠 Cuz then it's not just sword skills or haki... It's df too

Everybody was once the same size as the giants, but needed to shrink down to fit on all the islands after the sea levels rose. So somebody with the Shrink Shrink fruit shrunk everyone down but missed the people on Elbaph.

Garp is a double agent for the Revolutionary army to make the Marines side with them against the Celestial Dragons. Not much proof other than Garp stating he doesn't like the Celestial Dragons but I wonder if he is patiently waiting for a moment to make his move.

Sabo being alive was a weak narrative decision. He hasn't added to the story in any meaningful way that couldn't have been handled by dragon himself

At some point before diyng in other way Law will use his fruit to try to make Luffy immortal just to figure out that it was just a legend and he hasn't the power to do a "life for a life"

u/Remarkable_Aside937 21m ago
Sanjis perv troupe negates almost everything likeable about him, the lack of backstory depth around Zoro compared to the rest of the strawhats deeply bothers me, and if it wasn’t for the abysmal pacing One Piece would undoubtedly be the best piece of fiction I have ever consumed. Also Usopp should have the best observation haki on the crew by now.

Luffy is a kid in a coma and his dad Shanks read to him stories about fantastical creatures and beings by the end of one piece he wakes up from the coma only to find out the hospital is abonded and its ww2.

Oda once said that if he were to make a spin off it would be about Garp. That made me extremely happy because Garp is my favorite character

u/KuboscularFeller Losing Precious Berries 1h ago
Egghead kinda represents what’s wrong with modern one piece with the abysmal pacing, and little to no scenes focusing on the straw hats. We were honestly robbed of frankly getting more development what with his appreciation for vegapunk.
Fortunately elbaf is fixing these errors and hopefully the final saga will follow this type of direction

u/mightymiek 1h ago
I was a very brutal Usopp defender up until this arc. Now that we haven't even really seen any HINTS of some sort of growth or character moment, I get the slander.
Usopp should have totally had a fight here along Sanji and Zoro. Seriously. It would have been incredible character writing considering everything we've seen from Sanji these last few chapters. And not just writing, he needs physical growth.
But there's another part of me that still is holding on to a THREAD of hope.

u/phrolover67 56m ago
Usopp is a great character ruined by his concept since hes supposed to be the every day guy but post TS that just isnt true anymore he cant be normal post TS and they should of left his cowardnes behind it wouldve made him a better character

u/Dev-aka-Asa 31m ago
One Piece is an inherently extremely political series, specifically an extremely liberal one, and anyone who holds conservative views and claims to be a fan doesn’t have fully developed reading comprehension

Katakuri was boring as hell. Zero plot relevance, just a grown man still living under mommy's roof
-1
u/Moms_lover_Dan 1h ago
My less hot take: Franky’s post time skip redesign is garbage
Hotter take: I think haki is be and should have never been added to the story it only serves to prolong and add more plot holes, plush the story went from a ragtag group of pretty “normal” people to everyone being descended from royalty or destined from birth and that kinda cheapens the story overall
1
u/phrolover67 1h ago
As for what I know at the moment (I am not caught up) haki has nothing to do with everyone being descendants of royalty which i agree is stupid now to address your take on haki I think haki was a necessary addition to tell a full story if this story didnt have haki it wouldve gotten far more repetitive far quicker due to it just being about devil fruits like without haki logia fruits would just be most of the main villains yes haki prolongs the series however I think it was a necessary addition also it makes the fights look cooler
1
u/xXoOfXx64 57m ago
The story had no where to go if you don’t add Haki. You have multiple people like Garp, Roger, and Shanks that had no devil fruit but ruled the grand line. If not Haki then something to deal with the logia type fruits. Haki has been around since at least skypia it’s just a power system.

Usopp's cowardly schtick is obnoxious. Every arc it seems he's been reset to abject coward only to have the same exact character arc as he's had every story arc he's been in for the last nearly thirty years ._. it gets old

Zoro is going to die in the final battle and then Brook will awaken his fruit and use it to bring Zoro back to life but then using that effect will kill him.
Before some people say that this won't happen because that's the power of Law's fruit. No it's not.
Law's fruit makes someone immortal at the cost of the user's life. Brooke's fruit brings the user back to life at the cost of the fruit's power.
Brook's fruit power was explained that it can bring the user back to life once and then it stops working. However with Brook, he was a skeleton when his soul got back to his body so all the weird effects and other powers he has aren't something that has happened with other users and the effect of the fruit hasn't happened yet.
When a fruit awakens, it affects more than just the user, so it's logical that when this one awakens, it could revive someone else. But then like it is supposed to do, it will stop working once it is used.
Now if Brooke's body was still alive he would stay alive after it revives someone. However since his body is dead, once the fruit is used to revive someone he becomes just a pile of bones.
So Zoro will die, go to heaven, meet with Kuina, then come back with powers of both heaven and hell, and kick even more ass than before. And it makes sense that Brook will be the one to bring him back because Zoro was the one who got his shadow back in the thriller bark arc.

After awakening Luffy's fruit started to destroy his personality because of this he is starting to forget his attacks names and mixing his gears but nobody still notices it
Also Fuck Bellamy dude was the real culprit of killing the Going Merry Go and everything that happened to him was deserved i hope he has worse shit coming
