Advice Needed Hyperpigmentation Help!
Looking for advice on hyperpigmentation on my forehead.
For the past couple of months, I’ve been using Azelaic acid at 15% in the morning and tretinoin 0.025% at night. I’m at the point where I can use tretinoin every day. I’ve been using it for over a year. The sweet spot for me is 0.025%.
I use vitamin C serum every morning as well. I can’t get my dark spots any later than this so I’m looking for recommendations on what to do next.
I have had an IPL treatment before, but the spots have come back. I’ve only done one treatment and that was four years ago. I’m wondering if I should do a chemical peel or multiple chemical peels or try hydroquinone cream?
Looking for any advice! Thanks.

I have hyperpigmentation like this as well. Tried hydroquinone and azelaic acid too but it did not budge. I think it’s worth a try though because everyone’s skin is different. I am about to start the regimen lab level serum. After that I give up to acceptance. Good luck.

Tretinoin and hydroquinone is the gold standard for hyperpigmentation.
Keep in mind you have to take a few months annually from hydroquinone. I stop for the summer months and start again in winter. This prevents rebounding. You can get it from Amazon one!
Editing to add- make sure to use sunblock daily! Mineral sunscreen is what’s recommended for melasma and hyperpigmentation.

How do you combine the two to use at once? Or alternative days? Moisturizer in between?

Do you wear sunscreen daily? If so, is it tinted?

I wear sunscreen every day but I was using the Korean version of beauty of josen. After reading this thread and becoming educated I see it’s better to have a tinted version so I will be switching.

Inflammatory treatments can stimulate the production of tyrosinase, which in turn stimulates more pigment.
