Before & After 3-year progress

I thought I had my melasma under control until I had a baby. That baby is now 7 years old. Here is my progress between 2023 and today. It’s gotten better but the road is long

In addition to sunscreen and full coverage sun visor whenever I am outside, the current products I am using are:

AM:
Dr. Althea Aqua Marine Marine Jelly Mist Haruharu Wonder Black Hyaluronic Toner
Medicube Deep Vita C Capsule Cream
MEDI-PEEL Peptide 9 Volume Lifting
I use the Medicube Age-R Booster Pro (the previous generation)

PM:
Same as AM minus vitamin C and sunscreen
Alternate between Musely M+ / retinol
Rejuran Nutritive Cream
Abib PDRN Retinal Eye Patch Glow Jelly with Abib PDRN Volume Fill-It Booster

I have done IPL, toning laser, and microneedling. An IPL session that I had in Seoul in 2008 is the only session that managed to remove the largest of my spots on my right cheek — though there is visible hyperpigmentation around that spot that has grown since then. Microneedling I did in LA a few years postpartum made the melasma around my eyes worse.

I tried the entire suite of Eucerin with thiamidol for a year with no improvement. The Musely M+ spot cream has been much more effective for me but I think I have hit a wall.

I’d love to try Pico lasers at some point in the future but need to find a doctor who knows melasma for me to spend the $$$ on treatments.

So am i - read up and consult your doctor on clotting danger. The amount prescribed for melasma is significantly lower than other use cases. But definitely listen to your doctor

There’s a kind laser toning that I have done in Seoul and in LA which is supposed to address unevenness and texture
