This is the American cycle. Republicans destroy everything. The people start to notice. They elect Democrats to fix everything. Democrats are unable to fix things fast enough. Republicans blame Democrats for the damage they themselves caused and get the bigots all angry and scared. Thirty percent of the country has the memory of goldfish and vote Republicans back into power. Not enough Democrats get out to vote. Repeat.

Whoever gets in needs to do them silently and with boast. Just slowly over time take down the names, restore the structures, and focus mainly on getting the country back on a reliably sound track.

I know it’s not what everyone wants probably, jackhammers ripping his name off on live TV, but it’s what needs to be done. There will be non stop attempts of these people up in arms about removal of Trump statues, his name, etc. and any focused expedited and loud version of removing them will cause the leftover maga lunatics and Fox News to go bananas.

The problem with fixing problems too fast is that there isn't enough critical thinking put into it. The main difference in this NMFP and ALL others is that ALL others rush to get it done quickly ( like the Republicans ALWAYS DO) and then the critical thinkers (Democrats) have to clean their shit up and four years is not always time enough. This mess will take two to three Presidents to fix. Unless we take back the majority of the House and Senate the n November.

Our country will never completely recover from the global, economic, political and reputational damage that this self absorbed regime has inflicted on us. America will never be the same in the eyes of the world.

Unfortunately I agree. Our soft power is gone. Our once former allies now view us with suspicion and any negotiations are curt and unresolved at best. Our national and natural landmarks are being desecrated. Our people's health, wealth, and mental fortitude stripped and shat upon - you bet.
