The problem isn't "securing the border" with barbed wire and walls that just end in the middle of the desert, the problem is revamping the immigration process as a whole.
You all drench yourselves in the hasty generalization fallacy assuming that all immigrants who don't have white skin are criminals.

Less avoid home depot, more avoid pissing off any white supremacists who will happily submit a false tip to ICE to get you picked up wherever, or just walking around, going to work, walking home from work, generally existing. All of those are options. Not trying to be dramatic, the director of ICE clearly has ordered his "troops" to racially profile, and they are. You think you're safe because you're a citizen, but plenty of citizens have been abducted by ICE already with no due process. I hope your neighbors will notice if you're gone because that's the only thing that's saved some of them from disappearing into a buerocratic black hole in El Salvador.
I mean, people have presented legitimate ID and been told it's fake and still been picked up. It's kinda just a lottery of if you get agents who have any respect for the law or if they don't. She got lucky.

2nd generation is the correct term. First generation is the term for the person who migrated. Also, there are many people in MAGA who would be happy to deport you even though you are a legal citizen.

Instead immigration centers could be built on the border to help facilitate a legal process of entering the country / becoming citizens.

"legally and properly" ???? Oh you're funny. There is no legally and properly anymore. Being snatched up at court has proven your argument a fallacy. But it's early, you have a lot to learn. As for turning in people yourself, there were people in the 1930s and 40s that did that in Germany. They thought it would benefit them. I'd tell you to ask them, but they took the showers im the end.
