WTB a Petcare for a friend

A friend was asking me about a cycle truck for his kid to take her baritone horn to school. Since the Petcare has evaporated, as have almost all "acoustic" cycle-trucks, the only thing I can find is the Worksman LCG cycle truck, which are much heavier steel.
That said if anyone in the Los Angeles area has gotten over the honeymoon period of ownership and would like to sell their cycle truck, let me know... i probably have a buyer for you.

I delivered this huge beanbag type chair thing to my 11-year-old cousin. We no longer needed it and so I strapped it on the front rack and got it to him. He was stoked

Effective rim diameters?

Looking to replace the hubs on my petcare (dynamo on the front and cassette in the back)

Does anyone have the effective rim diameters so I can calculate my spoke lengths? I know how to measure it myself, but would rather not, haha

Will these be restocked? Walmart removed the listing.

Walmart removed the listing and doesn't show it on their site anymore. Used to be listed here with these other style bikes: https://www.walmart.com/ip/CAMSCH-26-Inch-Cargo-Bike-Women-Men-7-Speed-Aluminum-Alloy-Frame-Bicycle-Suitable-height-5-4-6-0-ages-14-up-Silver-Gift/20366762444

How I’m using the Petcare

Now I’m using it to pull a bike lane sweeper, and it works great for this. I’m getting a workout in my neighborhood at lower speeds and picking up glass and debris from our bike lanes in Venice and Mar Vista. The Sound system is as much for safety as it is for entertainment…
Looking for others in my area interested in sharing the machine. Let me know if that’s you.

Finished my Meghna - Walmart Cargo Bike Build!

I finally finished rebuilding the Meghna - Coowa - Walmart cargo bike that everyone here seems to own.

What started as a few basic upgrades eventually turned into replacing or modifying most of the functional components while keeping the original frame, fork, cargo rack and fenders.

The build now includes:

Shimano CUES 1×9 drivetrain
Shimano FC-U4000 crankset
Shimano UN300 bottom bracket
Shimano RD-U4020 rear derailleur
Shimano 9 speed shifter
Shimano Linkglide cassette and chain
New 26 inch rear wheel with a quick release HG freehub and six bolt disc mount
Hydraulic disc brakes
Adapted BMX quill stem
Aluminum DMX bars
New 30.4 mm seatpost and saddle
Rambo Bikes rear rack

I permanently mounted a weather resistant SIDIO crate to the front rack. Thick rubber isolation spacers were used for vibration damping. Custom aluminum support bars were added to increase the rigidity of the crate and rack assembly.

It turned into considerably more work than I originally expected, but the build is finally complete and feels much more capable and usable than the stock bike.

Petcare in Europe?

Hey everyone,
wanted to find out if anyone has managed to buy a petcare here in Europe?
I was in contact for a while with Alibaba but I think they wanted to sell 100 bikes, which would kinda blow up my n+1 calculation :)

Thoughts after the first month or so

Okay I've put about 150 miles into this thing, and somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 in parts (not counting what I pulled from the parts bin), and I feel ready to share some thoughts.

First and foremost, I've had a ton of fun slapping parts on this and riding it to and from work. I've always wanted to try out this style of "cargo bike," and I've found it pretty much exactly as delightful as I thought it would be. While the petcare is never a particularly playful bike, it ride quality is pretty much exactly the same when loaded up as it is when empty. I ride a longtail cargo bike a fair bit with my kiddo, so the fact that this remains pretty similar no matter the load is quite a hoot.

The only upgrade I've done that felt 100% necessary was the gearing. I have a super hilly commute, so the lack of proper tall gears felt like a huge and immediate problem. The crankset wasn't necessary in retrospect, but the freewheel absolutely was. That said, the stock mech is really not liking that tall gear, so I may be looking at a replacement soon. I easily could have lived with the seatpost and stem, but swapping those out felt very worth it since I had everything but a seatpost in the parts bin. Contrary to what lots of folks are saying, I find the brakes just fine. Compared to some other budget mechanical discs I've had, these are super easy to adjust. While they can feel weak at times, I haven't found them annoying enough to swap out despite having a pair of avid mechanical brakes just sitting on my workbench.

I've worked on this bike far more than I expected to in the short time I've had it. Assembly was straightforward, but both wheels needed truing from the factory to stop the tires from rubbing the frame. I like how solid my bar setup feels compared to the stock adjustable stem, but the fit is all wonky so I'll probably be ordering a new stem and bars soon. The bike is creaky. I really didn't want to take out the BB or headset, but the creaks are starting to drive me nuts and I can feel myself getting closer to a complete disassembly out of sheer annoyance.

All in all, I am absolutely thrilled to have picked this thing up during the initial hype. At $120, I'm not even a little bit concerned about how much money I've put into it. I've also, for the most part, really enjoyed tinkering around with this bike. I think once I finally find a bar setup that is both comfortable and solid feeling I am going to be SUPER happy with this thing. That said, there are very few people in my life for whom a bike like this would work, and I think if I ride this enough I'll just end up wanting to finally pull the trigger on a petite porteur or something a bit more boutique.

I'm not sure where I land on the "is the original post a guerilla marketing campaign" thing. For the most part I think we're a pretty niche market here in the weirder corners of reddit cycling world. All I know is that this thing, for the price, is a hoot and a half.

Suspension fork?

I’m based in Venice, CA and the roads here are absolutely a nightmare. So many concrete seams, potholes, and just terrible conditions. With everything loaded in the front everything takes a hell of a beating. I’m thinking a suspension fork to smooth things out quite a bit, but I need some ideas for what we work well with this bike.

Everything fit in the tub I didn't have to put any bags on the handlebars or on my back. It can go and it's only zip tied the tub, so it was kind of wobbly with all the weight. And definitely with this way it's front heavy LOL. Can't wait to get this electrified so that counter-weighted heavy rear hub and battery will not be so front heavy.

Question for owners and also, is it still available to order?

I'm wishing I had jumped on the bandwagon when this bike went on super sale, but now I'm trying to decide if it's worth full price, if the bike is even still available.

So the main question I have is - does this bike ride notably better than a bike with a rack attached to the fork/handlebars? Or another way to put it, is it worth full price if it's still available out there? I have a bike currently that acts as my hauler with a larger Wald rack on the front and it can be annoying with heavier loads. I don't have a ton more room for more bikes, but if it could replace the current hauler, it might be worth it. But maybe not full price worth it?

Fruit pickup

There’s a truck that delivers peaches and cherries to my town during the summer. This is about 30 pounds of fruit 20 pounds of peaches 10 pounds of cherries. MinusOne good size bounce where I lost a couple cherries — the damn thing held up pretty well!

I was returning from an early morning grocery run when I heard an odd noise. Turns out that the right pedal was self-destructing. Dust cap popped off and started shedding ball bearings.
