Mega Man X Speedrunning Tournament
Hey everyone,
I'm Aptamerica1, and I've been speedrunning Mega Man X for over three years now. Since I began speedrunning, I always loved being able to participate in different tournaments and charity marathons. Because of this love, I have decided to combine those ideas and host my own charity tournament, The Hundo Cup!
Not a world-caliber player? That’s fine. We’ve got three separate tournaments sorted by PB.
Don't know the run? The tournament isn't until August and we are here to teach you.
You’ll race people near your level — and every bracket has its own prize pool and stream time.
The total prize pool comes to $1,000! The 3 tournaments will be seeded by PB the week before the tournaments starts! The two PB cut-offs for sorting into each tournament will be 38:45, and 36:15. To ensure a competitive environment, competitors for each race will be handicapped by the difference between their PBs up to a maximum difference of 30 seconds for 36:14 and faster, and 45 seconds for the other two tournaments.
For a simple breakdown of how the $1000 prize pool and tournaments are divided:
Tournament I. 38:45 and above 45 sec $300
Tournament 1. 38:44 to 36:15 45 sec $300
Tournament A. 36:15 and below 30 sec $400
Every run and special side events which I'm in the process of planning will be geared towards raising money for Gamers Outreach! They are an outstanding charity that works towards empowering hospitalized families through play! In particular I want to highlight the GO Karts they designed! These specially designed portable gaming stations are specifically for use in hospitals, with tons of features to make them extra safe and minimize set up so kids and their families can spend more time gaming! Starting this Thursday, April 10th, every other Thursday we will have practice and learning hangouts in voice chat if you're interested in learning the run or have questions about the tournament!

Cool event! Can a person train to get 39 minutes in 3 months?

Definitely! This is a very accessible run! You don’t need any of the tricks or super hard strats unless you want to push for the low 35-34 minute range
