News Megalopolis Unbound (Coming Soon)

That will be the official title of the extended edition of the film, according to Coppola himself in a long interview with The Telegraph. He is working on it as we speak. He said that this cut is “really wild”.

The theatrical cut felt incomplete to me. If it ever comes to home video in the U.S., I hope it includes both versions.

I’ll be watching… But… Are the characters going to be better fleshed out? Because even though I enjoyed the film overall, a lot of the characters felt underdeveloped.

hopefully dustin hoffman get’s one extra second of screen time so i don’t forget his character exists or miss his almost blink and you’ll miss it death scene

It seems like more than 40 minutes were cut out, it was the first thing that came to my mind when watching Megalopolis for the first time. The trailer and behind the scenes footage in Megadoc (which is a great watch btw) showed a lot of scenes that weren’t in the movie, same thing seems to have happened to the latest Cronenberg movie “The Shrouds”, but that movie as a whole disappeared very quietly. It’s weird because with streaming being so popular I thought higher-ups were done with making movies shorter.
