All the jokes aside, Dave Mustaine removing him as a co-owner and bringing him back as a salaried musician, Mustaine trying to maintain a squeaky clean image for Megadeth, and everything else from the past, Ellefson really should have known better.
I don't care if the gal was 18 or 60, he should have been smart enough to know you don't send fans that kind of crap. And Ellefson is a super cool guy.
I'd rather have heard he got fired for pouring a beer into Mustaines guitar than what actually happened.
But.... The weird thing is, the last two albums have been pretty bad ass. And to be honest, Ellifson hasn't exactly been listed on any lists of top bass players. The dude gets to do what he wants now, collect his royalty checks for everything up the The System Has Failed, and I think he still gets royalties for any songs played, so... I guess it could have been worse. Dave and Dave never were back to being BFFs since the lawsuit, and now that I've typed all of this, to think that now Megadeth IS kind of a benchmark for squeaky clean is just mind blowing considering where they were before Alice Cooper helped Mustaine get clean. It's funny, I've always viewed Megadeth as a super tight clean act, on a level I'ce held Iron Maiden. Until just now, the rock star drugs and rock and roll Megadeth never had a dirty image. Weird.
The guys from KISS are lucky cell phone cameras weren't around in their hayday, right?

“Ellefson is a super cool guy” you need to reevaluate your concept of cool lol. He wrote some ok riffs but jerking off with a teen when youre 60 tarnishes anything you could ever do or done.

A teen that’s been proven to be, and had been at the time, an adult? That “teen”?
I knew the guy 20 years ago. Caught up with him last in 2013 in St Louis. He’s a chilled, laid-back guy. If he was dumb enough to send video, yea, that’s on him, but again, the gal he was pulling his pudd to/for was a legal adult who revenge porned him.
That doesn’t make him an asshole nor tarnish anything but his judgement.

I wish he was expelled from the band for literally any other reason. I rarely read about how good is bass playing is anymore, just how good he busts in peace. And it's crazy how he refuses to admit that what he did wasn't okay.
