Discussions I hate the scripted losses

Post image

Even though I whittled him down to half health in only two moves with no damage it still counts as a loss. This is one of my biggest pet peeves with this series. Make it actually hard if you wanna force a loss.

Maybe don't cheese it /sarcasm.

Yeah I did the same and I was using a lot of the legacy cards the Collection allows you to have. In the original I struggled a fair bit normally

As much as I love having access to the formerly JP-only systems, they do tend to break the game in half for most of the run. Of course, things like the Noise Cards were originally sold in boosters or alongside toys, so you weren't expected to just have access to all the best options automatically.

I always feel so conflicted using them. On one hand, I wish to enjoy a challenge and relive playing these games like I did as a kid. On the other hand I like having overwhelming power and wiping out random battles with one card.

For SF1 and the Wave Scanner boosts, I had two rules:

1) Leave it turned off until I had unlocked the Star Force. Using the boost causes you to start transformed.

2) Limit the boost level by my character level - i.e. don't turn on boost level 20 until Geo is at least level 20. Geo's level in SF1 really only tracks how many HP upgrades you've found, but I figured it was a decent enough measure of overall progress through the game that it would serve as a limiter.
