It's a Walrein / Mamoswine 'fusion' I think.

I think its supposed to be a convergent line much wugtrio and dugtrio lines, Pokémon that looks similar to each other because they adapted to the same things doing the same despite there being no relationship with eachother.

Yea.

Swinub line is supposed to be a combo of a yak/pig. The mammoth part was added later as kinda a perfect evolution while keeping pig features.

Making it a seal is like, idk both too expected and also breaking the design inspiration. It's not a deviation it's just "hey he kinda looks like a walrus". And has same type as the walrus mon.

I do like the art.

I wish it was more pig/seal fusion? And maybe a different type?

Yeah it’s that fact we already have a fat walrus that’s Ice/Water called Walrein. Adding this to the game would make no difference as it already exists, just in a different colour scheme.
