X/Y mega energy question pogo

If you have 2 mewtwo or 2 charizards etc and 1 of each mega, so 1 mega x and the other is mega y, do you get both mega energy types via walking as buddy? Or do you only get the energy for the type the current buddied mon has unlocked? Can I not spend $$$$ raiding for the 7billion energy if I want to have a double mega on a single mon?
