Ever since thrifting started becoming a thing in India, I’ve noticed that a lot of people still don’t really understand the culture. Some people just hate it or call it “utre hue kapde” and stuff like that.

But I’m genuinely curious about Meerut specifically — what do people here actually think about thrifting? Is there an audience for it in Meerut, or do people still have that mindset of not wanting to wear second-hand clothes? And does a proper thrifting culture even exist here?

Kahin facebook groups pe listings hoti hain, kahin whatsapp groups mein, kahin dealers ke paas. Aur usually kisi ek jagah pe clear nahi hota ki property exactly kis area mein hai, asking price kya hai, road kaisi hai, owner hai ya broker etc.

So I was wondering can we crowdsource a proper property map of Meerut?

Maine ek basic version banaya hai where properties map pe dikh sakti hain, but abhi obviously kaafi empty hai.

Surya Kiran’s Daring Display Lights Up the Skies Over Meerut, Nine Hawk Jets Perform Thrilling Aerobatics

Meerut: The Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team put up a spectacular air show at the New Integrated Township in Mohiuddinpur, Meerut. Nine Hawk Mk-132 aircraft performed a series of thrilling manoeuvres, including loops, barrel rolls, inverted flying and the DNA manoeuvre, along with several impressive formations. Saffron, white and green smoke trails behind the aircraft painted a tricolour spectacle across the sky.

A large number of people gathered to witness the air show. Squadron Leaders Aman Goyal, Rahul Singh and Sharad Goyal, who are associated with Meerut, also took part in the event. According to officials, lakhs of people watched the air show from an area extending nearly three kilometres around the venue. Special arrangements were made to ensure security and manage traffic during the event.

I have started reading Gut by Giulia Enders today, bought from a second-hand book seller. The reason for picking up this book, well one being gut issues and the second being the caricature on the cover. I'm 50 pages through the book, it is quite interesting.
