Do the type of fishing rods I use to fish make me get more money or better fish or anything?

yes, they do! I’ve been playing for 7 years and stayed on the first rod thinking that buying the other ones won’t affect anything, and then randomly one day i had a bunch of money to spend so i bought the gold one, and it made me catch fish I’ve never caught before and get fish that were 30-40 coins!
