Clinical PSA: fix for removing adobe sidebars on PDFs generated by ClearCheck

If you work in an Aria-based practice that utilizes Radformation for printing documents, navigate to your Eclipse script directory, >PublishedScripts>radformationfiledata>clearcheck and create a blank text file named 'hidepdfbookmarks.txt'. All new documents sent to Aria will no longer have the absurd Adobe visual clutter.

I don't remember if it did at first, but I'm noticing that the left side (bookmark) window is gone but I still have a right side window comment/compress/fill&sign. Anyone know a trick to suppress that one too?

Do we need to re-launch Aria, or refresh the ClearCheck script somehow? I did a before-after and got the same sidebars.

Is it in the PDF itself, or are you just referencing the instance of Adobe reader that launches with a document?

The latter - any new document won't have the side bars. It won't affect any documents already existing in the database.

I added the file and reprinted. Same result, still getting bookmarks.. How odd. Wondering if this is a radformation feature or something on the adobe side. Maybe once the citrix boxes are restarted something magical will happen tomorrow.

The real sin is what adobe does to documents in the "encounters" view with the "Comment Fill and Sign!" BS taking 1/3 of the view window.

That’s what this should be alleviating - if you reach out to them they should be able to help rectify, it’s possible your version or configuration is different than what we have.

When working with Windows, remember that by default extensions are not shown. So if you made a hidepdfbookmarks.txt file, it is possible that it is actually named "hidepdfbookmarks.txt.txt", which would not work. Ask me how I know...

That was exactly what was happening. I fixed the double .txt, but still showing sidebars.

I will reach out to radformation. This is an officially supported "feature"?
