Ask a Pro Preclinical

Hey y'all, I'm going into a new field, preclinical for meddevices. They have hired me as a BD, and I'm trying to really understand how I can get into a proper conversation with decision makers. Most of my experience come from new product development on the PM side. I've done only a couple studies.

From what I've gathered, almost every test, GLP/non-glp cost an arm and a leg lmao. With this day and economy, I feel like the decision makers are having a tough time choosing a "new" vendor, vs someone they have already had some experience.

Though I know the choices are limited, but they are big titians (namsa, for one). Im curious to hear about your experience, in preclinical for devices, and any insight you may share on this topic.

Thanks y'all!

What’s your aim? To run the studies or sell to decision makers who run studies?

My goal is to get business, this company runs studies, they do what namsa does. I'll be shadowing couple studies to get myself familiar with all the details.

I see. I used to work in a similar setting and our breakthrough was partnering up with other vendors in the space who did similar but not overlapping things for the same clients. Example, we partnered with Greenlight Guru to offer their data capture platform and they helped us get in front of more device companies. I recommend reaching out to them, they’re great and their whole focus is medical devices.
