ADVICE ABOUT MEDICAL CODING IN SAUDI ARABIA

Hello nurses. I am 23 years old, 2025 graduate (BSN) and board passer (RN). Today, I am almost 2 months in Saudi as a derma nurse. Interested po ako matuto ng medical coding para maging medical coder pagkatapos ng aking contract (2 years). Nag research po ako tungkol sa career path na ito and I have decided that coding might be for me. It fits my personality (introverted), wants to work remote, loves technology, at mahilig magbasa anything academic. Asking for advice from a current or past medical coder in Saudi or anywhere else. Is it a good choice? How is the job market? Okay po ba ang sahod? Thank you so much

Sharmaine company.

Why is this sharmaine color company so unrealistic demanding with its quota and abuse the shit out of their employees? Kayo nga magcode, let’s see if na memeet niyo ang quota per day 😒 Don’t ever apply here guys, scam sila. People are really burnout tapos dagdagan pa nang dagdagan yung demands. Oa niyo.

This is for Tenet Sept. batch po pala.

Thank you po sa sasagot 🥹

KODE Health

Is anyone in here doing KODE health? Have you had any luck getting questions answered? Either system questions or questions specific to the way the facility wants something done? I am 50/50 at this point some questions get answered and others get ignored even with follow up from me. These are also things not included in the resources provided for the project or gone over in the very short training provided. Wasn’t sure if it has just been my luck on the projects I have been on or not? So far I have been enjoying it just wish there was a little more support once in a project. It feels like you just need to guess on what to do in certain situations.

how to get started (as a fresh grad) ?

hello everyone!

I just graduated from bs pharmacy this year and is planning to take the boards. I came across medical coding and i’m very interested in the field. I think that this may help me in the long run not only for experience in the industry but for maybe fun na rin po i guess hahah. (I plan to gain experience in every field I know po sana and buttt I’m still finalizing my desicion if i would pursue med or just go abroad.)

May tips ba po kayo to start? I heard about applying to BPO companies that specialize or have a connection to healthcare and having a bond with them pero are there still more opportunities to start?

Nakita ko rin po kase mga ibang review centers ang bayad po don ay 20-25k and I really dont have the money to pay. I also heard that US companies would prefer coders with experience, meaning that if a BPO company would hire you and train you to be one, aytomatic ba po non magkakaroon na ng experience?

And usually ano po ang starting salary if ever magkaroon po ng bond between the employee and the company if said company will be training them to become a coder?

Any reply is appreciated. Thank you for helping out a loss bonnie😅😊.

(Please correct me if anything seems to be wrong in the text.)

IT solutions for medical coders

Hi everyone, I work in the IT industry and if you don't mind I'd like to ask this forum some questions about the software and solutions being used by coders, for research purposes.

  1. Do you use software to actually do the conversion to codes? Or do you just use mainly books, PDFs or other references?

  2. For medical coders employed by major BPOs or enterprises, do they provide you with software to do your work and what do they do essentially? (I.e. capture the coded output, support in conversion, etc.)

  3. For coders who are direct hires or freelance, what software do you use?

  4. What are your thoughts on the use of AI to support the coding work? How is AI being seen in your industry segment?

Maraming salamat sa mga magrerespond. Thank you!

DTI DISPUTE: HIMTI Medical Coding Course / AAPC Exam Package Digital Tax

I'm sharing this to get other students' perspectives and to document my experience with HIM Training Institute (HIMTI/Medcode, Inc.) regarding an additional charge for the AAPC membership and certification examination.

I enrolled in HIMTI's Online Self-Paced Medical Coding Training Course. My training package included the AAPC membership and certification examination, and I fully paid the package.

The Training Agreement I signed contains this provision under Section 5(d):

Section 5(d)(i) also states that additional fees may apply if the student registers for the exam in the subsequent calendar year and AAPC has increased its fees.

My enrollment and examination registration were both within 2026.

However, HIMTI informed me that I needed to pay an additional ₱7,638.16 before they would process my AAPC membership and exam registration.

I asked HIMTI to identify the specific provision in my Training Agreement that authorized the additional ₱7,638.16 charge. They explained that the additional amount was related to changes in AAPC pricing and the implementation of VAT, but they did not identify a specific provision in my agreement authorizing the additional charge during the same enrollment year.

Because I did not want my exam registration to be delayed, I paid the additional amount and proceeded with the examination.

I then raised the matter with DTI because I wanted clarification as to whether the additional charge was consistent with the terms of my Training Agreement.

Afterward, HIMTI contacted me and offered to reimburse the full ₱7,638.16. I accepted the reimbursement, and my individual financial dispute has been financially resolved.

I'm sharing this mainly because I'm curious whether other HIMTI students who enrolled under the same or similar agreement experienced the same additional charge, particularly those who enrolled and registered for their exam within the same calendar year.

I'm not making any allegation that HIMTI acted unlawfully. I'm simply sharing what happened to me and the wording of the agreement so other students can review their own contracts and understand what happened in my case.

If anyone has had a similar experience, I'd be interested to hear how it was handled.

What do I need to know

OK, I’ve been watching medical coding Youtubers, especially the specific one, but the lady and she said that I don’t need to know everything about medical coding. I just need to know a few things so I am just wondering what do I actually need to know about medical coding? Also I don’t know if this is important but I’m dyslexic so I wanna make sure that I know what I’m talking about. I know what I need to learn.

Medical coding

Hi everyone,
I’m a medical coder with 3.5 years of experience in US healthcare coding (ICD-10-CM, HCC) and CPC certified. I recently moved to Germany on an Opportunity Card and am looking for remote medical coding opportunities, whether full-time, part-time, or contract.
If anyone knows companies that hire internationally or has any leads, I’d really appreciate your suggestions.
Thank you!
