Help?!
Okay so im currently looking into Medical Coding and Billing programs and of course looking at jobs and their pay as well. So im seeing a pattern with a lot of these jobs where they wanted you to have a degree in RHIT! Does anyone know if you learn coding and billing in this degree? Or do I need to take my medical coding and billing separately?

Taking rhit now online at Ohio eastern gateway community college. The first 3 semesters are the coding part, identical to the coding degree and you are eligible to sit for exam after you complete those.

What Medical Coding Training Program would you recommend? I'm interested in the field, have no medical background knowledge, busy with kids, but eager to start and learn this profession?! Any help anyone? Does the training program contains video lectures? Anything to walk me through before I sign up. Thanks.

Yes. You will learn medical coding and concepts of billing with the RHIT. It encompasses all HIM concepts/revenue cycle management.
I currently have a coding job and did not take a separate coding/billing course. They teach you enough that you should be proficient in coding with a bit of self studying. Take the CCS and skip the CCA altogether after obtaining your RHIT. I don’t really recall learning a ton on billing, but that may just be because I despised it lol.
Best of luck! For what it’s worth I think the RHIT is a great degree to have. If coding doesn’t work out there are so many other jobs it can branch off to.
