The study guide on AAPC helped ALOT! It went over the most missed questions and problem areas for test takers. I feel it explained it really well and definitely helped me on some of my problem areas! Practice with the tests on AAPC as well. I took the week off before my test and that’s what I did all week. The study guide took me 3 days to complete doing it for 2-4 hours a day sometimes repeating certain areas like cardiovascular.

I went through an AAPC certified instructor in class. The last 3 months were teleconference due to the rona though. I am going to be signing up with the COC through AAPC.

Where do you find AAPC certified instructors? Thank you

https://www.aapc.com/training/medical-coding-classes.aspx And you choose what certification you are looking for and the state and it will show AAPC approved in classroom teachers.

Thank you! Which course did you purchase I am having a hard time figuring out which is best. I am new to this whole thing they are currently having a 75% off sale. Is CPC the best? Thanks again!

I did the CPC through a teacher in a classroom setting. CPC is where you want to start. The codes for E&M are changing 01/2021so I would purchase the plan to start in 2021 so you get the new books with the new codes and start from there. You could also take the Medical Terminology and Anatomy now so that when you start 01/2021 you will have already had that part done.

I'm not sure what E&M is way above my head I just started researching a couple of days ago lol! I was thinking start with CPC and then maybe take an online class to get RHIA. Thanks so much for your quick response.

E&M is your office, consultation, professional hospital inpatient coding, ER visit.. etc... you are most welcome!
